Installation Procedure
NOTICE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during
performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair
of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers
before opening any compartment or disassembling any component
containing fluids.
Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service
Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain
fluids on Caterpillar products.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

1. Position filter base (2) and install bolts (1) and the nuts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 44 ±
10 N·m (32 ± 7 lb ft).
2. Install hose assemblies (3). Tighten the connectors to a torque of 78 ± 10 N·m (58 ± 7 lb ft).
3. Apply clean engine oil to the seal of oil filter (4). Install oil filter (4). Refer to Operation and
Maintenance Manual, "Maintenance Interval Schedule" for the service interval for the
engine oil filter.
4. Lower the hood.
