Dear Mr Jackson
I wish to apply for the advertised position of Catering Assistant with your company and
enclose my CV for your consideration.
I have spent the last two years working at DEF Catering, both behind the scenes and in a
customer facing role. I have a great deal of experience in preparing, presenting and
storing food at public and private events, both large and small. While at DEF Catering, I
completed a number of courses at my local catering college, studying in the evenings and
at weekends.
I am a hard worker and I work well within a team, following instructions and making
suggestions alike. I am now seeking a new position that will help me to develop my skills
further and I believe that the role you are offering would allow me to make a real impact
within ABC Company.
I am eager to discuss my training and experience in more detail and would be delighted to
talk to you at interview. Please feel free to contact me on (phone number) if you need any
additional information.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely
Mark Dixon

Having read your advert on the dayjob.com website, I would like to apply for the position
of Catering Assistant. As an experienced, courteous and efficient Catering Assistant, I am
more than able to ensure consistently high standards of service, presentation and
cleanliness. I have spent the last two years working for ................. as a Catering Assistant,
doing many of the duties that you have listed in your job description. My current
employer has awarded me the ‘Employee of the Month’ certificate no less than four times
in the past year.
I always follow instructions accurately and competently, and am able to maintain a high
standard of hygiene and safety within the workplace. As a hand’s on person I know how to
operate tills, clean tables, take orders from customers, and serve food in fast-paced
environments. My other skills include being able to prepare counters, displays and dining
areas, as well as set up and dismantle furniture.
I have successfully taken part in many public and private events where I was intimately
involved in preparing, presenting and storing food. I also possess a current food hygiene
certificate and know a considerable amount about the hospitality and catering
industries.
Please find attached my CV, along with copies of my relevant certificates. Besides the
experiences listed on my enclosed resume, I must also point out that I have a flexible
attitude to working hours and am willing to work extra hours and weekends.
I am eager to discuss my experience and skills with you in more details, and would love
the opportunity of an interview. I thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you in
the near future.
Yours sincerely
Mark Dixon
