It is also about Bond's beginning life as a spy and how he
transforms to the character that we all know as James Bond.
6. 1. JAMES BOND AS HERO
When we uncover the new face of traditional masculinity in this movie that played Daniel
Craig as the peak of traditional hero with a little charm, stoic attitude and athleticism.
But as the viewers watch the film carefully, they'll notice that indeed the character has a deeper
nature that resembles to the feminist critique of patriarchal power dynamics in modern society.
For one, all affairs of the feminist experts occur around Bond's relationships and personal life.
Bond is very sure of himself, and women like him. But this makes it seem like women are just
there to look nice for men. This is like what some people think about how men see women.
Bond shows us how society often thinks about women and what they want.

7. 1. JAMES BOND AS HERO
On the one hand, this vulnerability of Bond makes him more full-bodied, as the standard
understanding of the hero is always embodying some set of traits like calmness and absence of
emotions. The hardships he has been through, such as the trauma and stressed emotional
condition, therefore, making us rethink. Through this lens, Bond show himself not as a sole
symbol of greatness and leadership but rather as a complex character converting power into
leadership and masculinity into a usual man, consequently asking the audiences to reconsider their
understanding of traditional masculinity and a common heroism symbol. But at the same time, we
have to acknowledge that in moments of being a real hero Bond was unable to stay an ordinary
man who can be trusted by others (Ebert, 2007).

8. 2. LE CHIFFRE AS THE ENTREPRENEUR
Mads Mikkelsen was one of the only characters who embodied the typical entrepreneur, with
cunning, ambitious, and financial incentivized attitude. Being a high-stakes gambler and a
financier for terrorist organizations which present a new dimension of masculinity in the sense
that they don’t rely so much on physical strength but on intellect and strategic thinking rather.
Le Chiffre's character linking being as rich and have powerful to being manly. This idea is
talked about in feminist discussions (Ebert, 2007).
The pursuit of power and wealth of compares the masculinity of a person and with his economic
dominance as which is based on the capitalist ideas of success.

9. 2. LE CHIFFRE AS THE ENTREPRENEUR
Le Chiffre's dramatic desiring for money success is presented right in the first scene of the
movie where the only believes in reason rate of return upon being asked if he believes in God.
Nonetheless, his true inner turmoil, which consists of his external validation dependence and
manic fear of failure disrupt his positive portrayal. This disapproves the notion that only
traditional masculine is dominant and strong enough to deal with any stressful or dangerous
circumstances. It shows the underlying weakness of the traditional gender roles (Movies&TV,
2017).
9
10. 2. LE CHIFFRE AS THE ENTREPRENEUR
Moreover, the pressed lips on Le chiffre's
face are a test of the traditional beliefs of
the male gender as physically fit. By
having a scar on his eye as a patch, the
person declares that he decides on how he
should look instead of following the
opinion of the majority people. It merges
the two types, having strong along with
idealistic.
10
11. 3. FELIX LEITER AS THE SPORTS HERO
Felix Leiter played by Jeffrey Wright mirrors the sports hero though has a sport relationship with Felix
showing the attributes of loyalty, having strong athletic body, and team spirit.
He is a typical CIA agent and Bond’s ally in this movie. This friend model is always connected with the
mighty sports and army heroes.
Through this lens, a feminist can identify that the author and writer clearly had sportsmanship and what
makes a man in view when they look at the main idea of the story. They would make use of the character
to question him about the interconnection of these principles.
He is truly passionates about what he do and is even ready to sacrifice a lot because of honesty and moral
reasons. This conveys a lot about what the concept of ‘manhood’ can involve. Moreover, these actions
suggest that it is not always necessary to compete and crush others to become a man. 11
12. 3. FELIX LEITER AS THE SPORTS HERO
Through his joint investigation approach
Leiter touched on some former beliefing about
masculinity and generalities on being
independent and overcoming others with just
the help of his own power and will
(WIKIPEDIA, 2024).
12
13. 4. MR. WHITE AS THE WARRIOR
Mr. White, who are played by Jesper Christensen, was a warrior type with a vivid masculine
portrayal. He is harsh, cruel and only shows his attention to the protection of the interests of his
inner circle. High up along the criminal dimension of quantum, he works behind the scenes
setting up operations with exceptional dedication and brutality.
Mr. white personality as feminist character does not suit the feminist discussions on how
militarism and masculinity are linked. His loyalty, honour and commitment towards his interest
show the warrior principles of hierarchy and discipline.
13
14. 4. MR. WHITE AS THE WARRIOR
He often doing things that involve both being
sneaky and fighting. It is also important to
considered the fact that stories usually present fights
as a source of victory when it’s done by heroes
(WIKIPEDIA, 2024).
14
15. CONCLUSION
"Casino Royale" which is primarily about different kinds of man from the classic tuff-guy to the
current representative of the modern idea of manhood. Analysing the these characters with a
feminist point of view is one way to discovering the divergent value of valour and might. The
rules of the universe need change sometimes, so do the principles of masculinity. This movie
shows us an opportunity to look at all that and see similarities with the real-world experience.
