Seaman Paper Company installed a Hurst Hybrid S600 wood-fired boiler as part of a comprehensive energy savings initiative over 10 years. This reduced the company's oil usage by nearly 1.7 million gallons and electricity usage by 2.6 million kilowatt hours, saving up to $1.5 million per year. The boiler burns shredded wood pallets instead of 23,709 barrels of oil, cutting costs by $1,580,000 while reducing NOx emissions by 30% and SO2 emissions by 95%. An event was held at Seaman Paper to showcase its sustainable manufacturing practices and energy efficiency successes.
