proposed a new printing fleet of
four devices, together with a strong
network of technicians to support
the machines if and when required.
“In the end we chose Fuji Xerox
Australia because we were aware
of the significant difference in up

David said.
Following a brief implementation
period, CMYK introduced four Fuji
Xerox devices into the business.
To ensure optimised colour output
and print quality, David also created
a custom, climate controlled room
to house the devices.

Describing the importance of
uptime to the business, David uses
the analogy of a ‘hopper of jobs.’
“I liken our processes at CMYK
to a hopper system. We have
a consistent flow of work coming
through the presses, so there’s
never a time when there’s
nothing to print. The hopper

getting shorter, but more frequent.

David also counts on Fuji Xerox

we’ve experienced before.”

Due to the diversity of printing
jobs that pass through CMYK, from
short runs of business cards to large
quantities of magazines and flyers
— versatility in their chosen devices
is critical.
In David’s own words — “We needed
devices that could handle duplex,
heavy weight stock, and large
sheet printing requests seamlessly.
The device’s paper handling
capabilities was highly important
in terms of growing our service
offering. I’m pleased to say we
now have devices that can handle
all printing formats.”
Benefit: Sustainability
With sustainability also a focus
for David and the CMYK team, the
company is stringent in its recycling
processes of all waste paper,
cardboard and other consumables.
CMYK also offers a range of
recycled papers to its customers
to minimise its carbon footprint.
The future for CMYK
The introduction of a Fuji Xerox
device fleet has also opened new
doors for CMYK — expanding their
service offering.
David explains — “We’re now looking
at a photobook offering which we
see as one of the biggest growth
areas for our business. This includes
short run booklets and magazines,
all of which is within our sphere
of capability with Fuji Xerox’s
iGen devices.”
