WORLD
EXPERIENCE
To drive awareness and social media buzz around the
highly anticipated return of The X-Files to television, FOX
crashed a UFO into The Park at The Grove for a truly
out-of-this-world experience.
As the sun rose on the Friday before the Sunday night
premiere, guests at The Gove encountered a massive
spaceship spanning 17-feet high and 26-feet wide. Circled
with branded caution tape, the alien vehicle was
“decontaminated” by brand ambassadors in yellow
hazmat suits.
The visual “surprise and delight” FOX promo drew fans
from near and far over the two-day stunt. Within hours,
the social media universe was erupting with shares and
selfies of the unexpected spacecraft, even from LA Mayor
Garcetti. Fans young and old celebrated their excitement
for the return of the ’90s cult phenomenon to television.

THE
AVENGERS
To celebrate the release of Marvel’s latest mega-
blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron, Samsung created
the ultimate virtual reality experience that had its only
North American appearance at The Grove.
For a month, guests virtually – and literally – immersed
themselves in the Samsung Galaxy Avengers Studio where
they met Iron Man, The Hulk and the rest of the crew.
Visitors were given the latest in virtual reality technology,
through which they experienced a brand-new chapter in
the Avengers saga as if they were right there. With photo
opportunities with the heroes and a chance to scope the
hottest new gear from Samsung, it was an experience for
the whole family and franchise fans alike.

SHOW’S PARTY
STARTED WITH
A PINATA IN
THE PARK
When Nickelodeon wanted to promote the 28th annual Kids’
Choice Awards, it produced a larger-than-life live stunt for fans
at the ultimate LA hotspot – The Grove.
Kids of all ages were invited across Nickelodeon’s and The
Grove’s social media channels to come meet Vine icon and star
of Disney’s Drake & Josh, Josh Peck. Before a packed park of
fans, DJ Maxwell from Radio Disney hosted the event and
interviewed Josh about his time shooting the tween-tastic hit
series. Between interview segments, the audience enjoyed
answering trivia questions, participating in a raffle, and
generally gazing adoringly at Josh, who signed autographs and
took selfies with the crowd.
But the real fun began as a dozen kids were selected to don
construction hats and other Kids’ Choice safety gear before
entering the large “piñata pit”. Josh did the honors of breaking
open a giant blimp piñata, suspended above the crowd. With
each whack, prizes rained down on the lucky participants who
knew that certain envelopes would contain coveted free tickets
to attend the biggest night in kids’ television.
The piñata event attracted more than 500 kids from ages 10-15,
all of whom went home with gift bags and swag promoting the
Kids’ Choice Awards.

Citi cardmembers were invited to a special event featuring
ABC Family's hit show, Pretty Little Liars. This unique event
showcased two of the show's leading innovators - trendsetting
costume designer, Mandi Line, and the show's creator and
executive producer, Marlene King - in a discussion moderated
by Entertainment Tonight's Leanne Aguilera.
The discussion encompassed behind-the-scenes stories,
inspiration for the show's storylines, and insight into how the
costumes and characters in the series have evolved each
season.
Prior to the event, guests had an opportunity to take a
souvenir photo in front of a green screen photo booth and
browse a gallery of costume displays with wardrobe pieces
featured on the show.

FOX invited EMMY voters to The Grove to enjoy a star-studded
evening with the cast of Empire. The night included a screening
of the Season 1 Finale, a Q&A with the actors and executive
producers and a live concert of songs from the record-breaking
series.
While The Park was designated for VIPs, crowds of fans
gathered in a standing-room-only area to catch a glimpse of
their favorite stars.
To augment the panel and performance on stage, The Grove
Dancing Fountain featured a custom water show choreographed
to “Conqueror,” and FOX displayed costumes created for the
television series.

When Starz network wanted to highlight the amazing talents
of the costume designers for its notable series – Outlander - it
curated an exhibit titled, “A Tartan Affair to Remember.” Starz
chose The Grove and its Pacific Theatres – the second highest-
grossing theater in the country – to reach an audience
passionate about the industry.
Featuring everything from custom-designed Scottish plaids to
British redcoats, the special exhibit included costumes from
the first season, created by costume designer Terry Dresbach.
The limited-run, public exhibit was displayed inside The Glass
Box Experience in The Park. Executive Producer Ronald D.
Moore unveiled the exhibit in a dramatic “curtain opening”
moment for the media and a packed park of fans.
The display complemented a very special in-store appearance
and Q&A with Outlander author Diana Gabaldon at the Grove
Barnes & Noble.
The event attracted local and industry media coverage across
weeklies and bloggers.

  • 2. 2 Case Studies| Entertainment Introduction to Caruso Affiliated ENTERTAINMENT: TELEVISIONCase Studies of Collaboration FOX AND THE X- FILES OUT OF THIS WORLD EXPERIENCE To drive awareness and social media buzz around the highly anticipated return of The X-Files to television, FOX crashed a UFO into The Park at The Grove for a truly out-of-this-world experience. As the sun rose on the Friday before the Sunday night premiere, guests at The Gove encountered a massive spaceship spanning 17-feet high and 26-feet wide. Circled with branded caution tape, the alien vehicle was “decontaminated” by brand ambassadors in yellow hazmat suits. The visual “surprise and delight” FOX promo drew fans from near and far over the two-day stunt. Within hours, the social media universe was erupting with shares and selfies of the unexpected spacecraft, even from LA Mayor Garcetti. Fans young and old celebrated their excitement for the return of the ’90s cult phenomenon to television.
  • 3. 3 Case Studies| Entertainment Introduction to Caruso Affiliated ENTERTAINMENT & TECHNOLOGYCase Studies of Collaboration SAMSUNG GALAXY MAKES VIRTUAL REALITY REAL WITH THE AVENGERS To celebrate the release of Marvel’s latest mega- blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron, Samsung created the ultimate virtual reality experience that had its only North American appearance at The Grove. For a month, guests virtually – and literally – immersed themselves in the Samsung Galaxy Avengers Studio where they met Iron Man, The Hulk and the rest of the crew. Visitors were given the latest in virtual reality technology, through which they experienced a brand-new chapter in the Avengers saga as if they were right there. With photo opportunities with the heroes and a chance to scope the hottest new gear from Samsung, it was an experience for the whole family and franchise fans alike.
  • 4. 4 Case Studies| Entertainment Introduction to Caruso Affiliated ENTERTAINMENT: KIDS NICKELODEON KIDS’ CHOICE AWARDS GETS THE SHOW’S PARTY STARTED WITH A PINATA IN THE PARK When Nickelodeon wanted to promote the 28th annual Kids’ Choice Awards, it produced a larger-than-life live stunt for fans at the ultimate LA hotspot – The Grove. Kids of all ages were invited across Nickelodeon’s and The Grove’s social media channels to come meet Vine icon and star of Disney’s Drake & Josh, Josh Peck. Before a packed park of fans, DJ Maxwell from Radio Disney hosted the event and interviewed Josh about his time shooting the tween-tastic hit series. Between interview segments, the audience enjoyed answering trivia questions, participating in a raffle, and generally gazing adoringly at Josh, who signed autographs and took selfies with the crowd. But the real fun began as a dozen kids were selected to don construction hats and other Kids’ Choice safety gear before entering the large “piñata pit”. Josh did the honors of breaking open a giant blimp piñata, suspended above the crowd. With each whack, prizes rained down on the lucky participants who knew that certain envelopes would contain coveted free tickets to attend the biggest night in kids’ television. The piñata event attracted more than 500 kids from ages 10-15, all of whom went home with gift bags and swag promoting the Kids’ Choice Awards. Case Studies of Collaboration
  • 5. 5 Case Studies| Entertainment Introduction to Caruso Affiliated ENTERTAINMENT: TELEVISION CITI PRESENTS PRETTY LITTLE LIARS COSTUME CONVERSATIO N Citi cardmembers were invited to a special event featuring ABC Family's hit show, Pretty Little Liars. This unique event showcased two of the show's leading innovators - trendsetting costume designer, Mandi Line, and the show's creator and executive producer, Marlene King - in a discussion moderated by Entertainment Tonight's Leanne Aguilera. The discussion encompassed behind-the-scenes stories, inspiration for the show's storylines, and insight into how the costumes and characters in the series have evolved each season. Prior to the event, guests had an opportunity to take a souvenir photo in front of a green screen photo booth and browse a gallery of costume displays with wardrobe pieces featured on the show.   • 6. 6 Case Studies| Entertainment Introduction to Caruso Affiliated ENTERTAINMENT: TELELVISIONCase Studies of Collaboration FOX TELEVISION PUTS EMPIRE CENTER STAGE FOR YOUR CONSIDERATIO N FOX invited EMMY voters to The Grove to enjoy a star-studded evening with the cast of Empire. The night included a screening of the Season 1 Finale, a Q&A with the actors and executive producers and a live concert of songs from the record-breaking series. While The Park was designated for VIPs, crowds of fans gathered in a standing-room-only area to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars. To augment the panel and performance on stage, The Grove Dancing Fountain featured a custom water show choreographed to “Conqueror,” and FOX displayed costumes created for the television series.
  • 7. 7 Case Studies| Entertainment Introduction to Caruso Affiliated ENTERTAINMENT: TELEVISION When Starz network wanted to highlight the amazing talents of the costume designers for its notable series – Outlander - it curated an exhibit titled, “A Tartan Affair to Remember.” Starz chose The Grove and its Pacific Theatres – the second highest- grossing theater in the country – to reach an audience passionate about the industry. Featuring everything from custom-designed Scottish plaids to British redcoats, the special exhibit included costumes from the first season, created by costume designer Terry Dresbach. The limited-run, public exhibit was displayed inside The Glass Box Experience in The Park. Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore unveiled the exhibit in a dramatic “curtain opening” moment for the media and a packed park of fans. The display complemented a very special in-store appearance and Q&A with Outlander author Diana Gabaldon at the Grove Barnes & Noble.
