I lost 15 pounds and 3 inches off my waist after completing the 30 day Focus T25 workout program. The high intensity interval training and cardio exercises helped burn fat and build muscle tone. Overall I felt healthier and had more energy after following the Beachbody workout training program for a month.
The Shrine of the Three Holy Kings in Cologne Cathedral contains relics believed to be the bones of the Biblical Magi. The shrine was built between 1190-1220 and decorated with gold, silver, gems, and enamels depicting biblical scenes. It was shortened in 1794 but later restored to its original form in the 1960s-70s. The intention was for the shrine to be placed in the cathedral's crossing, but it now sits above the high altar, making this a focal point.
Certificate ratings help ensure films are suitable for different age groups by classifying content. U is for all ages and contains no explicit material. PG allows mild language, violence, or themes parents may wish to consider. 12A/12 permits more violence but not in graphic detail along with limited sexual or discriminatory content. 15 allows strong language, more graphic violence, and brief sexual scenes. 18 has no content restrictions but is aimed at adults due to graphic depictions of violence, sex, drugs, and language. For her horror film, the author determines a 15 rating would allow sufficient graphic content while maintaining a large audience.
The document discusses the progression from the author's preliminary editing task to their full film opening project. In the preliminary task, they learned camera techniques like 180 degree shots, shot reverse shots, and match on action shots. For the film opening, they used 180 degree and match on action shots but had fewer types of shots than in the preliminary. They felt rushed during filming which limited the variety of shots they could include. Going forward, they would spend more time planning shots and angles to make the film opening more diverse and interesting.

This document provides a media plan for Bud Beer to increase brand awareness and sales in Canada. It recommends targeting medium and heavy beer drinkers, specifically men aged 25-49 with a household income over $75,000 living in large cities like Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. The plan also recommends increasing advertising spending in Ontario and Quebec where brand awareness is lower compared to the overall beer market.
This linear programming problem involves a company that produces plates and mugs with limited labor and clay resources. The objective is to maximize total profit. There are two decision variables - number of plates and number of mugs. The constraints are that labor used cannot exceed 40 hours, clay used cannot exceed 120 pounds, and production must be non-negative. The linear programming model combines the objective function and constraints to determine the optimal production levels.
The Composite Insect Trap An Innovative Combination Trap for Biologically Div...Myers Shaiyen
This document describes a new trap called the Composite Insect Trap that was designed to sample a diverse range of insect taxa. The trap incorporates elements of four existing trap types - the cone trap, malaise trap, pan trap, and flight intercept trap. It has three main components: a cone portion based on malaise and cone traps, a flight intercept portion, and a yellow pan trap. The trap was tested over the summer of 2009 and found to effectively catch a broad array of insect species, providing a low-cost alternative for biodiversity studies needing to sample diverse taxa without using multiple specialized trap types.
The document provides a timeline and overview of important events in the gay and lesbian rights movement in the United States from the 1960s to present day. It discusses the emergence of gay liberation organizations in the 1960s working to end discrimination. Major events included the Stonewall riots of 1969 and the removal of homosexuality from the DSM in 1973. BISC The Ballot Initiative Strategy Center How It Promotes Big Labor’s Politi...James Dellinger
In 2006, voters in 37 states faced a total of 203 state ballot initiatives and supporters and opponents of these measures raised and spent more than $350 million. Many ballot initiatives were sponsored and supported by labor unions, and often they received help from the little-known Washington, D.C.- based Ballot Initiative Strategy Center,
which quietly provides assistance in promoting ballot initiative campaigns in states where the initiative process exists.
But the Center plays another increasingly important role for Big Labor and its allies. It devises tactics for blocking
ballot initiatives by union opponents using aggressive methods.
The document summarizes the growing acceptance and legal victories for LGBTQ rights over the past year. Key events include:
- Macklemore performing "Same Love" at Houston's Free Press Summer Fest and inviting openly gay Mayor Annise Parker on stage.
- The Supreme Court striking down DOMA and ruling that Proposition 8 backers did not have standing.
- Marriage equality being achieved in several additional states, bringing the total to 13 states plus DC.
- Continuing efforts to achieve nationwide marriage equality and anti-discrimination protections.
- Rice University participating actively in Houston Pride celebrations.

Introduction
The study of social movement reflects the social issues in different periods have faced. This work will focus on the Abolition Movement and the Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) social movements. Social movements are a result of general public consensus towards dealing with major social issues in the community.
I will discuss the historical background and ideals that supported the development of the Abolition Movement and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Social Movement. This is intended to show the correlation between their emergence and the key social issues that the community faced.
The Abolition movement
The Abolition movement was jumpstarted with the effort of ending slavery in America. It held that all people are created equal, and hence the practice of slavery was unacceptable. This movement existed in the 19th century when many people started publicly displaying dissatisfaction for the slavery practices in the country. It placed more pressure on the authorities to outlaw slavery (Martos, Wilson & Meyer, 2017). It would allow for increased debate about segregation and discrimination.
Slaved men and women worked on large agricultural farms as maids. Their life was brutal; they were subject to severe punishments and strict racial rules and policies. With time they opposed slavery through daily acts like antislavery movements. The basis of this movement was that all men were created equal and hence, the effort to emancipate slaves (Martos, Wilson & Meyer, (2017).
Abolitionists managed to integrate religion and moral movement, that focused on the acceptance that everyone was equal before the eyes of their creator and later on became political. Antislavery societies were formed by various churches to create awareness of evil effects of slavery (Lysack, 2012). American Colonization Society (founded 1817) was first movement to abolishing slavery but was greatly opposed since it was seen as unfair to send Black Americans from their motherland to Africa.
The American Antislavery Society was founded in 1833 by prominent leaders, such as William Lloyd Garrison David Walker and Frederick Douglass (Black Abolitionist) strongly opposed slavery in their publications (Pepin-Neff & Wynter, 2019). These publications disputed against slavery as anti-social and immoral and repeatedly used illustrations of African -American literatures and other accomplishments to outline that the Africans and their offspring had ability to learn like Americans, if granted freedom.
The abolition movement was politicized. The Native American Party opposed slavery as well immigrants. Thus, other parties like Free Soil and Whigs did so. They merge together in 1856 leading to election of Abraham Lincoln as president in United States (Lysack, 2012).
The abolitionists continued to pressurize the administration of Lincoln to terminate slavery. It to ...
The document summarizes the history and impact of the LGBT rights movement in the United States from the 1940s to the 1990s. It discusses key events like the Stonewall riots, removal of homosexuality from the DSM, and the AIDS crisis. It also analyzes arguments for and against LGBT nondiscrimination laws and debates around gay marriage. The document examines topics like public opinion trends, the roles of grassroots organizations and legislation at state/local levels versus lack of federal protections.
How the PCB Protest in North Carolina formed the Environmental Justice Moveme...JanelleNtim
The PCB protest in Warren County, North Carolina in 1982 formed the basis for the environmental justice movement in the United States. Over 500 protestors, including members of the NAACP and other civil rights groups, were arrested during a six-week protest against the establishment of a hazardous waste landfill in their community, which protestors believed was due to racial motivation. The NAACP provided valuable resources like legal representation and an established membership network to the protest, allowing it to develop into a larger social movement advocating for environmental justice issues nationwide.
The document discusses American gay rights and key figures who advocated for them. It outlines that gays have worked to achieve equal rights as heterosexuals. Gay rights include marriage, adoption, and equality under the law. However, some oppose gay rights for religious or moral reasons. The document also highlights Harvey Milk and Gavin Newsom as prominent gay rights advocates who helped legalize gay marriage in some states. It concludes that continuing progress by passing pro-gay rights legislation would be a solution.

This document summarizes key aspects of political campaigns and elections in Texas. It discusses how campaigns have changed with new media like the internet and social media. It also outlines obstacles to voting that historically disenfranchised groups in Texas, such as literacy tests and poll taxes. Finally, it notes reforms to campaign finance and increasing diversity in elected offices in Texas in recent decades.
The document discusses the historical development of social work in the USA. It outlines the influence of English poor laws, the establishment of almshouses, and the creation of state boards of charities in the 1800s. It then describes three key social movements in the late 1800s - the Charity Organization Societies movement, the Settlement Houses movement, and the Child Welfare movement - that helped establish social work as a profession. The document concludes by noting some important years and events in the evolution of social welfare and social work in North and South America.
The document discusses a proposal called the Fairness for All Act, which aims to find a compromise between LGBT nondiscrimination protections and religious exemptions. It proposes extensive nondiscrimination protections, but also carefully defined carve-outs for religious charities, schools, and small businesses. While rejected by activists on both sides, the authors argue it deserves closer consideration as it models an approach of negotiated compromise, as was successfully done in Utah. It could build new protections for LGBT Americans while affording new safeguards for religious institutions.
This document provides information about the National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL). Historical Abstract: The Massachusetts Gay and Lesbian Political Caucus (the Caucus) was founded in
1973 to fight for social equality for the gay and lesbian community in
Massachusetts. Originally titled the Boston Advocates for Human Rights, the
organization changed its name to Massachusetts Caucus for Gay Legislation in
1976 to reflect its focus on statewide legislation. The organization adopted its
current name in 1987. The Caucus was the first group within the gay and lesbian
community to employ a lobbyist to work full-time on equal rights for gay men and
lesbians. Since its creation, the Caucus has worked toward creating and promoting
legislation that benefits gay men and lesbians. Initially, the Caucus focused on
three statewide bills: to prohibit discrimination based on sexual preference in state
employment, to prohibit discrimination statewide, and to amend the criminal code
in regards to sexual conduct between consenting adults. The Caucus's focus has
since grown to include issues such as same-sex marriage and parenthood. On
November 15, 1989, the Caucus achieved a major victory when Governor Michael
Dukakis signed the Gay and Lesbian Civil Rights Bill into law. More recent
successes included the passage of the Domestic Partner Benefits Bill in 2001 and
the Freedom to Marry Act in 2004. The Caucus continues to monitor these issues
to ensure the laws remain in effect. The Caucus promotes participation from
supporters of these issues by hosting annual lobbying events such as the
Constituent Lobby Day, sending candidate and legislation endorsement letters, and
collaborating with other local, state, and national gay and lesbian organizations.
