Context In a society with an increasingly older population, a multidisciplinary team of older people, experts, designers, artists, students and teachers researched how media can be used to make living in the elderly more ‘carefree’.

3. Project “ Carefree living in the elderly care” resulted not only in several student projects (e.g. ‘Roots’, ‘ Fishtopia ’ ) but also in an interactive, traveling exhibition and in a game for youths revolving around elderly care.

4. The team experimented with innovative methods to actively involve elderly in the design process. In this form of experience design, the students - with theater group Bad van Marie - acted to empathize with the elderly in residential homes. Design role Co-design with elderly people
