● Step1: Identify your areas of improvement.
● Step2: Prioritize your improvement in list from MOST_IMPORTANT to
LEAST_IMPORTANT
● Step3: Identify which courses, or training you would need to learn those
skills.
● Step4: Take actions, and become better in those areas.
● Step5: Share whatever you were learning with you teams members.
Expectation from 0-3 years of Exp
Should focus on growing in all of the below areas.
● FUNCTIONALITY (Small - medium, as independently as possible)
● STANDARDS
○ DB table naming
○ Coding standards
○ Code architecture - Utils/controller/helpers/service/microservices
○ SonarLint / Sonarqube
● Tools used in the company
● End-to-end Process (SDLC)
Expectation from 3-5 years of Exp
● FUNCTIONALITY (medium - complex, as independently as possible)
● Standard/tools/process - already does.
● Start applying:
Performance/Modularity/Design/Maintenance/comments/unitesting
● DataBase
● Infra (AWS/GCP/Azure)
● Mentoring juniors
● Becoming "Full Stack"
Expectation from 5-7 years of Exp
● FUNCTIONALITY (complex, as independently as possible)
● Able to develop application with strong knowledge in
Performance/Modularity/Design/Maintenance/comments/unitesting
● Strong with Infrastructure knowledge, on how the application would perform on
cloud.
● Start leading teams.
● Decide your next future 3-5 years line. Management or Architect line. I would
suggest become a Technical Manager.

your career.
Step1: Identify your areas of improvement.
Collect inputs from multiple areas:
1. Discuss with your manager, on what is your expectation & how is your
performance & what areas you would suggest for improvement.- How is my
performance - What are my areas of improvement?
2. Discuss with your team seniors on what and how to improve
a. "With whom you will discuss, By when".
3. Take inputs on Role expectation 0-3, 3-5, 5-7 exp (By Tausief, Shared in next slides)
4. Your analysis, of what you think you should improve upon.
Step2: Prioritize your improvement in list from
MOST_IMPORTANT to LEAST_IMPORTANT
Collect inputs from Step1 sources. Plan carefully on what should be your next 3 areas of growth. Arrange it
in a priority list. This would enable you to plan your career growth roadmap clearly.
Always you should have next area of improvement list, all throughout your career.
Improvement priority list:
