This document summarizes Belize's import and export trade statistics for June 2018 and the first six months of the year. For June 2018, imports increased 10.5% to $170.8 million due primarily to higher fuel prices and increased purchases of cigarettes, footwear and perfumes. Exports decreased 7.3% to $35.9 million mainly because of lower sugar prices and reduced exports of shrimp, orange concentrate and sawn wood. For the first six months, imports rose 3.2% while exports fell 18% mainly due to declining sugar prices affecting earnings.

The document provides key quotes from President Bush's 2001 speech on climate change and the 2002 U.S. Climate Action Report regarding the science of climate change. The quotes note that while human activity like increased CO2 emissions have likely caused global warming, there remains uncertainty in fully understanding and projecting climate change impacts at the regional level due to natural variability and model limitations. The document aims to convey that climate change science still has open questions but human activities are contributing to the problem.
Letter from Steel Manufactures Association 11.21.02Obama White House
The Steel Manufacturers Association (SMA) expressed interest in participating in the Bush Administration's voluntary climate change Business Challenge. The SMA represents over 50% of US steel production, primarily from electric arc furnace (EAF) mini-mills that produce steel from scrap metal. EAF production is more energy efficient and recycles more than integrated mills. The SMA has tracked members' greenhouse gas emissions and believes it can refine reporting with DOE. SMA members promote cost-effective technologies to reduce emissions and will continue sharing information and research to support the voluntary initiative.

This document discusses the history and evolution of the English language from Anglo-Saxon times to today. It notes that English originated as a West Germanic language and was introduced to Britain by Anglo-Saxon settlers in the 5th century. Over the centuries, the language absorbed words from Viking invaders in the north and Norman invaders in the south, and has continued to borrow words from other languages throughout the world as English spread globally with British colonialism.
This email forwards an article about a Senate hearing on climate change. It summarizes that senior Bush administration officials agreed that human activities are largely responsible for recent climate changes but reject mandating drastic reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. The administration supports reducing emissions intensity in the US economy by 18% in the next 10 years but critics say this does not require real reductions in emissions. The article and an attached contact card for the sender are included.

This document is EPA's motion to dismiss a lawsuit brought by three states seeking to compel EPA to add carbon dioxide to the list of criteria air pollutants under the Clean Air Act. EPA argues that the court lacks subject matter jurisdiction because the decision to add pollutants to the list involves complex technical, legal and policy determinations that are within EPA's discretion, not a non-discretionary duty that can be compelled by the court. EPA also notes it has determined through recent actions that the Clean Air Act does not authorize regulating carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.

This document is an email exchange debating global warming between Michael Catanzaro from the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and columnist Molly Ivins. Catanzaro criticizes Ivins for claiming that the Bush administration is using "Orwellian" tactics on global warming and argues their actions are based on objective science. He provides counterarguments to Ivins' claims about rising oceans, melting ice caps, and monster storms due to global warming. Ivins responds that the energy and auto industries prefer to think warming does not exist and questions what will happen to people in the future. Catanzaro says concerns about human impacts on climate change are overstated and the key question is what role humans play, which scientific literature shows is

The document discusses technologies for converting lignocellulosic biomass into sugar for ethanol production. It describes various feedstocks and outlines two main technology pathways: acid hydrolysis and enzymatic processes. For acid hydrolysis it details different acid types and company approaches, while for enzymatic processes it outlines pretreatment options and key industry players. The document also reviews biomass synthesis gas technologies for producing ethanol from syngas.
The document discusses a press release from the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) criticizing the EPA's Climate Action Report 2002 for violating an agreement with the White House. The agreement settled a lawsuit brought by CEI and others over the National Climate Assessment, which the administration had disavowed. CEI argues the EPA report inappropriately cites the discredited assessment. A CEI official says the EPA needs to acknowledge the Clinton administration is gone and accept the Bush administration's climate policies.
The document summarizes that the Bush Administration has acknowledged the reality of climate change but still proposes doing nothing substantial to address it. It recognizes greenhouse gases as a major contributor to climate change but its plan only seeks to slow the rate of emissions, not reduce total amounts. Alternative proposals suggest mandatory caps on emissions that would make meaningful reductions while providing regulatory flexibility for industry.

The document is an email forwarding a news article about climate change. It summarizes that the Bush Administration has acknowledged the reality of climate change but still proposes doing nothing substantial to address it. Alternative proposals suggest mandatory emissions caps that are more reasonable than other proposals but still start reducing emissions.
The document discusses the Bush Administration's Climate Action Report 2002 which acknowledges that human-caused greenhouse gas emissions are largely responsible for rising global temperatures. Several Senators plan to hold hearings on whether the report warrants changes to US climate policy. The report suggests adapting to climate impacts rather than reversing trends through new emission reduction policies. Some critics argue the findings require more significant action than proposed by the Administration.
The document summarizes a press release from the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) criticizing provisions in a draft Senate energy bill relating to global warming. Specifically, it calls out proposals to create a White House climate czar and reporting requirements as costly and counterproductive. The CEI urges removal of these climate sections, arguing they would enable energy rationing policies similar to the Kyoto Protocol.
The document is an email forwarding an article from the New Democratic Daily about the Bush Administration's changing position on climate change. It discusses how the Administration now acknowledges climate change is happening but still proposes doing nothing substantial to address it. The article also discusses alternative proposals from Senator Jeffords and the Progressive Policy Institute that seek mandatory emissions reductions from electric utilities.
The document discusses a Senate committee hearing on climate change where administration officials agreed that human activities are largely responsible for recent climate changes but rejected mandating drastic reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. The officials proposed reducing US emissions intensity by 18% in 10 years rather than absolute reductions, but critics said this would allow emissions to increase. The document included a forwarded email with an attached report on the administration's climate change plans.
Margot Anderson from the Department of Energy responded to Phil Cooney from the Council on Environmental Quality to inform him that they have not received a Freedom of Information Act request from Greenpeace regarding communications about the 2002 Climate Action Report. Phil had asked various agencies to check with their FOIA officers and coordinate with CEQ if they received a similar request. The attached document provides more details on the FOIA request, which seeks communications between CEQ and other agencies pertaining to the 2002 Climate Action Report.
The EPA's latest climate report to the UN relies on the discredited National Assessment on Climate Change, violating an agreement with CEI to withdraw the Assessment. As part of settling a lawsuit by CEI, the White House agreed the Assessment's conclusions were not official policy. CEI argues the report inappropriately cites junk science the Administration recognized as invalid, undermining the President's climate policies. CEI demands the EPA be told the Clinton Administration is gone and to stop accepting the Assessment's findings.
The EPA was preparing a "State of the Environment" report to be released on June 23rd. The report was intended to provide information on actual environmental conditions. However, the EPA decided to drop all data regarding global warming from the report after battling with the OMB over how to portray climate change trends. The OMB was reluctant to have information showing climate change as a serious problem included in the report. As a result, the EPA removed the entire section on global warming to avoid including distorted language. Advisers to the EPA expressed concern that omitting global warming data failed to properly address a major environmental issue.
The document summarizes a press release from the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) criticizing the EPA's Climate Action Report 2002 for relying on the discredited National Assessment on Climate Change. CEI had previously sued over the National Assessment and reached an agreement with the White House to withdraw it, so the press release argues the new EPA report violates that agreement. It also announces CEI has filed a petition to prevent distribution of the EPA report. Rush Limbaugh is quoted criticizing President Bush for appearing to "flip-flop" on global warming in the new report.
The EPA was set to release a report on the state of the environment but removed any mention of global warming after pressure from the White House OMB. The OMB did not want to portray climate change as a serious problem. An environmentalist source said the EPA decided to cut the global warming section rather than have it distorted by the OMB. The report is missing discussion of a major environmental issue.
This document is an email from Larisa Dobriansky thanking Samuel Thernstrom for forwarding an email from Michael Catanzaro about comments from Senator James Inhofe supporting voluntary climate initiatives over government mandates. Inhofe says voluntary programs show that mandatory caps on carbon dioxide emissions are unnecessary. He is concerned voluntary programs could lead to future regulation but industry should keep arrangements private to avoid future regulation benefiting large companies.
This email thread discusses a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from Greenpeace regarding communications about the 2002 Climate Action Report. Margot Anderson from the Department of Energy responds that they have not received a similar FOIA request. Phil Cooney had asked various federal agencies to check if they received similar requests and to coordinate responses through CEQ.
This document is an email chain discussing a New York Times editorial on the Bush Administration's position on global warming. The editorial criticizes the administration for withdrawing from the Kyoto Protocol and rejecting limits on carbon emissions. It notes some encouraging state-level actions but says global warming requires a national response. The emails discuss the administration submitting a new climate report to the UN that describes significant environmental impacts from global warming in the US.
The document summarizes a request to the EPA to cease dissemination of the Climate Action Report (CAR) due to violations of the Federal Data Quality Act (FDQA). Specifically, it argues that the CAR relies upon and disseminates findings from the National Assessment on Climate Change (NACC) which fails to meet FDQA requirements for objectivity, utility, and reproducibility. It details how the NACC inappropriately used computer models and data that are not scientifically valid, and that the US Global Change Research Program failed to complete all required analyses before releasing the NACC. As a result, the petitioner requests that EPA remove the CAR from its website and cease disseminating it to comply with FDQA guidelines.
The document is a letter from several conservative organizations to Senator Pete Domenici expressing concerns about the climate title in a draft energy bill. Specifically, they oppose provisions that would require reducing greenhouse gas emissions, create a White House climate office, and award credits for early emission reductions. They argue these provisions would set the country on a path to energy rationing without public debate and create lobbying to mandate emissions caps.
This document is a forwarded email containing a letter signed by various conservative organizations addressed to President George W. Bush. The letter expresses concerns about the recently released Climate Action Report 2002, claiming it relies on "junk science" and undermines the President's opposition to the Kyoto Protocol. The letter urges the President to withdraw the report and have it rewritten based on sound science without input from the previous administration. It also calls for dismissing or reassigning administration employees who do not support the President's agenda on global warming and energy policies.
The document summarizes the Bush Administration's changing position on climate change. It acknowledges that the Administration now accepts the science of climate change in a report to the UN, though it still advocates doing nothing substantive to address it. The document discusses alternative proposals from Senator Jeffords and the Progressive Policy Institute that would mandate emissions reductions from electric utilities in a more reasonable way. It argues the Administration will likely only follow, not lead, on dealing with the issue.
This document is an email exchange regarding a FOIA request from Greenpeace for documents related to the 2002 Climate Action Report. Margot from DOE responds to Phil Cooney at CEQ, informing him that DOE has not received a similar FOIA request. Cooney had emailed other agencies to check if they had received similar requests and coordinate responses through CEQ. The FOIA request from Greenpeace seeks copies of communications between CEQ and other agencies regarding the 2002 Climate Action Report.

President Obama believes we have a moral obligation to lead the fight against carbon pollution. Share the details of his plan to help make sure people in your community get the facts.
The document outlines the President's plan to reduce the deficit by more than $4 trillion total through 2023. It details that over $2.5 trillion in deficit reduction has already been signed into law. This includes $1.4 trillion in spending cuts and more than $600 billion in new tax revenue from the wealthy. The President has also offered Speaker Boehner an additional $1.5 trillion in deficit reduction, including $930 billion in spending cuts to defense, health care, and entitlement programs, as well as $580 billion from limiting tax deductions for the wealthy.

The document discusses President Obama's proposal to extend middle-class tax cuts. It proposes extending tax cuts for families making under $250,000 per year. This would benefit 114 million middle-class families. Failing to extend the cuts would increase taxes by an average of $1,600 for each of these families. The plan aims to reduce the federal deficit by $1.16 trillion over 10 years by not extending high-income tax cuts for those making over $250,000 annually.
The Obama Administration recognizes that the interconnected challenges in high-poverty neighborhoods require interconnected solutions. The Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative is a community-based approach to help neighborhoods in distress transform themselves into neighborhoods of opportunity.

Recent years have seen a disturbing rise in violence, discrimination, and intolerance against Christian communities in various Islamic countries. This multifaceted challenge, deeply rooted in historical, social, and political animosities, demands urgent attention. Despite the escalating persecution, substantial support from the Western world remains lacking.

EPA Global Warming Report Violates White House Agreement To Settle Lawsuit
Report Relies on Discredited Science Previously Disavowed as Official
Policy
Washington, D.C., June 3, 2002-The Environmental Protection Agency's
latest report on global warming to the United Nations, Climate Action
Report 2002, violates an agreement between the White House and the
Competitive Enterprise Institute, three members of Congress, and other
non-profit advocacy groups, struck in settlement of a lawsuit. The report
relies in part on the discredited National Assessment on Climate Change.
As a result of the lawsuit filed in October 2000, the Bush Administration
ultimately agreed in September 2001 to withdraw the National Assessment
and stated that its unlawfully produced conclusions are "not policy
positions or official statements of the U.S. government." EPA has ignored
this agreement in issuing its report to the United Nations.
"Through Freedom of Information Act inquiries, we learned that the
National Assessment was hurriedly slapped together in an incomplete and
inaccurate form," said Christopher C. Horner, CET counsel who filed the
lawsuit. "The current Climate Action Report inappropriately cites the
disgraced National Assessment, in clear violation of the spirit and letter
of our agreement with the White House in return for withdrawing our suit."
Adds Myron Ebell, director of global warming policy at CET: "The
Administration has recognized that the National Assessment is the worst
sort of junk science. For the EPA now to accept the National Assessment's
findings as valid undermines and contradicts President Bush's global
warming policies. The EPA needs to be told that the Clinton
Administration is gone and Al Gore did not win the election."
The lawsuit against the White House's flawed climate science was brought
jointly by CEI, Senator James Inhofe CR-OK), Representatives Joe
Knollenberg CR-MI) and Jo Ann Emerson CR-MO), and other non-profit
advocacy groups. CEI's pleadings in the case can be found in the docket
at the federal District Court for the District of Columbia (CV 00-02383).
