Cape Town is the second most populous city in South Africa and the largest in land area. It is the provincial capital and primate city of the Western Cape as well as the legislative capital of South Africa. Cape Town is famous for its harbor, Table Mountain, Cape Point, and is Africa's most popular tourism destination. As of 2007, Cape Town had an estimated population of 3.5 million over its land area of 2,455 square kilometers, resulting in a lower population density compared to other South African cities.
