Capacitor and capacitance
Capacitors can be connected in series to temporarily store electric energy. When connected in series, the source voltage is distributed across each capacitor based on its individual capacitance. The total capacitance of capacitors in series is calculated as the inverse of the sum of the inverses of each individual capacitance.
