The blood stains that had appeared previously reappeared, despite efforts to remove them. This led Mr. Otis and Washington to doubt their denial of ghosts. That evening, the family went out for a refreshing drive and discussed everyday topics, not mentioning the stains. Upon their return, Mr. Otis encountered the Canterville Ghost, dressed in ragged attire with manacles. Mr. Otis offered him lubricant without concern. The Ghost was then humiliated by the twins attacking him with pillows. Having never faced such insult in his long afterlife, the Ghost decided to avenge this and regain his fearsome reputation.

2. A SHORT OVERVIEW-
The BLOOD STAIN
again appeared in
the morning.
Many attempts were
made by
Washington to
remove the stain but
none succeed to
remove it.
Mr. Otis and
Washington had a
doubt on their denial
of Ghost's existence
After that, their
family had a
refreshed evening
and no discussions
were made about
ghosts.
On the same night,
Mr. Otis again saw
the Ghost with
manacles and
gyves.
Mr. Otis didn’t bother
too much about the
ghost and handed him
a pack of American
lubricant for his rusted
manacles and gyves.

3. The Ghost stood in
silence and
immediately after,
he was attacked by
white robed figures-
[Stars and Stripes].
The Ghost felt very
humiliated and no
one treated him
like this in his
three centuries old
career.
Ghost was
thinking deeply
about the people
he had made
afraid throughout
his ghost life.
Ghost decided to
avenge his insult
and regain his
reputation as a
fearful ghost.

4. Reappearance of ‘BLOO STAINS’-
Though Washington removed the stains with some American stain
remover ‘Paragon Detergent’, the second day he again noticed the stains.
Mr. Otis locked the library and kept the keys with him but again he
noticed ‘Blood Stains’ the next morning. This made both Washington and
Mr. Otis to doubt about their denial of existence of Ghosts.


6. After the stain mystery, the family went to a refreshment
drive the next evening and had a light supper and didn’t
return till nine o’clock .
During the whole drive, they didn’t have talk on the stain
mystery and discussed many other topics such as-
‘conversation of cultured Americans of the better class’;
‘immense superiority of Miss Fanny Devonport over Sara
Bernhardt as an actress’; ‘ the difficulty of obtaining green
corn, buckwheat cakes, and hominy’ and many more day to
day life topics.

7.  After returning home at about 9 O’clock, they went to bed
and at half past, Mr. Otis heard some unusual voices which
made him to go in search of the source of the voice.
 Interestingly, Mr. Otis met with a man of eyes such as red
burning coals; his garment, which were of antique cut, were
soiled and ragged, and from his wrists and ankles hung heavy
and rusted manacles and gyves.
 Without bothering much, Mr. Otis provided him with a
American lubricant for his rusty manacles and gyves.

8.  Next with a mindful of thoughts, Ghost reached to great oak stair case and
there he was attacked by a pair of pillows by two little white robed figures i.e.
stars and stripes the twins.
Having felt highly humiliated, Ghost hastily adopted ‘Fourth Dimension of
Space’ i.e. disappeared from the place.
 He reached a small secret chamber in the left wing and leaned up against
moonbeam to recover his breath and realized his position.
 In his career of three centuries, it was for the first time when he was insulted
or humiliated so badly.

9. At that moment thought of various people he horrified such as-
 Dowager Duchess
 Four Housemaids
 Rector of parish
Madame de Tremouillac
Lady Stutfiled
And many more

10. After horrifying so many people, the ghost was provided with lubricant and a pillow
bash. It was highly unbearable for ghost. He thought that indeed he was the only
ghost in history to be treated like this.
His ego and his self pride forced him to avenge of this situation.

11. WHO WILL WIN IN THIS COMPETITION OF PROVING ONESELF ?
ON ONE SIDE WE HAVE A GHOST WHO HAS ALREADY HORRIFIED MANY
PEOPLE AND ON THE OTHER SIDE WE HAVE A MORTAL BEING WITH
JUST A STRONG BEILIEF? WHO WILL WIN?
