1. CANNES WINNER
Le migliori idee creative degli ultimi 20
anni premiate al festival dell’advertising
di Cannes
2. CANNES LIONS
Festival
• Pensare che fino al 1984 veniva tenuto a
Venezia!
3. CATEGORIE
• Lions are awarded in a number of categories,
including cinema/television, print marketing,
outdoor advertising and direct marketing.
• The festival introduced an award category for
online media in 1998, known as the "Cyber
Lion".
• Curiously, the festival only created a category
for radio advertising in 2005.
• In 2006 "Promo Lions" were added and in 2007
"Integrated Lions" will be added.
4. CANNES LIONS - NUMERI
• 9,000 registered delegates
• 85 countries
• 26,000 pieces of work,
• 45 seminars
• 20 workshops,
• four awards ceremonies,
• two vast beach galas.

15. 1991- PERRIER LION
• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMqRxNOFNvU
• Inaspettata, differente, memorabile.
vincente è raccontata in modo straordinariamente efficace.

‘In 1992 a commercial by Spanish hotshop Casadevall Pedreno & SPR for Dutch rubber
cement brand Talens won the Grand Prix. The agency proved the ad had aired
somewhere, but nobody ever established that the brand existed.Such scam or ghost
ads are not victimless. They rob an award from someone else who created an ad
and sweated and fought to get it approved by the client.’

17. 1993 - NISSIN CUP NOODLES
• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rw4UCM0WYZg
• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxtZHOE4ScY
• Advertising Agency: HAKUHODO
• Country: Japan
18. 1996 – ROLOS NESTLE
• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mR6xvzXpEVo
• Award: Grand Prix
Year: 1996

19. 1997 – DIESEL MONO VILLAGE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kicKqsgml84
nordica
20. 1998 – NIKE SKATEBOARDER
• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GplUshckhn0
• Raffinato concetto creativo per Nike: What if?
• La messa in scena dell’ipotesi: e se i tennisti, i golfisti, i runners venissero
trattati come skateboarder?
• Agenzia GOODBY SILVERSTEIN & PARTNERS
21. 1999 - LITANY
• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoASyac_F1Q&feature=player_embedded
• "Don't talk. Don't touch. Don't walk. Don't walk at night. Don't walk on the right.
Don't drink. Don't think. Don't smoke. Don't do drugs. Don't do beef. Don't do junk.
Don't be fat. Don't be thin. Don't chew. Don't spit. Don't swim. Don't breathe. Don't
cry. Don't bleed. Don't kill. Don't experiment. Don't exist…

22. 2000 - WHASSUP
23. 2001 – FOX SPORTS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-QNEwhFZvQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-n6zI3lm6U
schiaffi, eccetera
• Il claim: Regional sport report. Sport News from the only region you
care about. Yours.
• Agenzia: Cliff Freeman & Partners
24. 2002 – NIKE TAG
• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpyhpisoWf4
paura
P. Barbella
• Agenzia Wieden & Kennedy
25. 2003 – IKEA LAMP
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I07xDdFMdgw
http://www.duncans.tv/2005/ikea-lamp
• Agenzia: Crispin Porter & Bogusky - USA
26. 2004 – PLAYSTATION MOUNTAIN
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzM5KtL4GHk
• Forse il filmato più evocativo e
apocalittico dei tutti gli anni 2000.
• L’agenzia TBWA Londra e il
regista Frank Budgen mettono in
montagna umana
• Dal senso di inquieta attesa
iniziale si passa alla follia
collettiva, a una piramide umana
colossale sui cui ognuno sale per
un secondo e poi precipitare giù
http://analogik.com/article_ps2.asp
28. LA MUSICA - GET ON BOARD
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpHqGJiQNes&eurl=http://analogik.co
29. LA REALIZZAZIONE - THE MILL
• According to the 22-strong judging panel, "Mountain" was rewarded
with the top prize in recognition of "simplicity of idea and
magnitude of execution."
• The Mill helped such "magnitude of execution" by creating 146,000
digital people to form the eponymous - and now famous -
mountain.
•
"The ad's success stems from a strong team," says TBWA's TV
producer, Kate Hitchings. "Everyone from client, agency,
production company and facility house gave it their all. The Mill
was an integral part of the production; the end result wouldn't
have been the same without them."
•
30. • Barnsley from The Mill attended the six-day shoot in Brazil where five
carefully placed cameras were used to film over 500 extras strategically
choragraphered climbing buildings and running through the streets of Rio.
• The end shot shows what seems like thousands of people at the top of a
very tall building.
31. • The software, which only The Mill and Weta in New Zealand have a
licence to use, gives each individual digital character a brain to
determine how they react. In the biggest shot Jordi created
146,000 digital people that had unique vision, sound and touch-
based artificial intelligence giving them realistic individual
behaviour.
• During the shoot 50 stuntmen and acrobats were filmed from a
helicopter rolling and running up a 20ft cone that was fitted to the
top of Brazil's highest skyscraper. Barnsley then used this as a basis
to extend down to create various shots, including the stunning end
shot that looks like thousands of people forming a very tall
building.

37. 2005 – HONDA GRR
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MUUhnDj5Ws
•Agenzia: Wieden + Kennedy, London.
•Animation by Nexus Productions.
•Song composed by Michael Russoff.
soprendente, nuovo, memorabile
38. HONDA GRR
• Here's a song for anyone
who's ever hated...
in the key of Grrr...
Can hate be good? Can hate be great?
Can hate be good? Can hate be great?
Can hate be something we don't hate?
We'd like to know... why it is so.
That certain diesels must be slow
and thwack and thrum... and pong
and hum and clatter-clat
Hate something. Change something.
Hate something, change something,
make something better-r-r-r
Ohh isn't it just bliss... when a diesel goes like this?
Hate something. Change something.
Hate something, change something,
make something better-r-r-r... (less)
39. 2006 – GUINNES NOITULOVE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoLwfkRvLfk
claim ‘Good things come to those who wait’ ( ne
stupefacenti, fino all’epoca dei pesci rettili
• I quali, assaggiando l’acqua , pronunciano un sonoro
‘Bleahh!’
•Agenzia: AMV/BBDO, London
•Regia: Daniel Kleinman
40. DOVE EVOLUTION
• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hibyAJOSW8U
http://www.mediabistro.com/agencyspy/fallon/juan_cabral_and_his_inspiration_for_the_cadbury_gor
)
successo
43. 2008 – XBOX HALO 3

44. Halo 3
• The Cannes Grand Prix winners 2008:
• Xbox Halo 3's "Believe" by T.A.G./McCann
Worldgroup, San Francisco.
44
45. • "The variety of the work they produced was so
surprising and so new and so engaging," ha
detto il presidente della giuria
• "It is breathtakingly beautiful in its craft,
thinking, its execution and the way it
connected with people. It's game-changing in its
thinking."
45
46. • The winning Halo 3 campaign, from
T.A.G/McCann Worldgroup, San Francisco,
included three-minute online executions --
"Enemy Weapon," "Gravesite," "John
117/Monument" and "Combat" -- that delved
into the story of the legendary battle between
humanity and aliens using documentary-style
interviews set 500 years in the future.
46
47. • Another commercial in the campaign,
"Diorama," also received a gold and a bronze
Lion.
• The jury praised its unique approach in the
category and the deep level of the storytelling.
47
49. • Enemy Weapon[1] is a live-action TV trailer that was a part of the
Believe advertisement campaign for Halo 3.
• It takes place in the Museum of Humanity and concerns an interview with
a pair of retired UNSC soldiers who fought The Covenant. They interview
Roland Huffman and Tomas Navarro.
• In the trailer an interviewer questions the retired soldiers, whilst they
walk through the museum, looking at the various captured Covenant
weapons, a Brute Chieftain's head-dress with a single bullet hole in it,
human weapons and a few human vehicles, including a Warthog and a
Scorpion.
• They talk to the two soldiers about their weapons and duties, cutting to
them and their effects during the clip. The interviewer then asks about
the Brute Spiker on the display stand in front of them. Huffman describes
it and picks it up, causing the weapon to activate, along with blue lights
on the weapon also activating. Huffman then expresses discomfort at
holding an enemy's weapon, and puts it down.
• After that he talks to Navarro about how he never believed they would
survive, and that the only reason they did is because of the Chief.

50. GRAVESITE
• http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=pOLR4WjJqIs
• Gravesite is the last video featured in the
Halo 3 Believe advertising campaign. With a
release date of October 1st, 2007 the video
follows the rest of the series including Hunted,
Museum and Enemy Weapon. It was told from
the viewpoint of Lieutenant Niraj Shah.
50
51. GRAVESITE TEXT
• Narrator: "For the first time in 43 years, Lieutenant Shah returns to the
site of the battle."
• Narrator: "What is that?"
• Lt. Shah: "A shell from a sniper rifle."
• Narrator: "It's amazing there's still so many remnants out here... Where's
Master Chief's grave?"
• Lt. Shah: "I don't think anyone really knows. There was a ceremony five
years ago, over there, just as a symbolic gesture. The coffin was empty."
• Narrator: "Why was the coffin empty?"
• Lt. Shah: "No Spartan could be listed as KIA. They can only be listed as
MIA, missing, so it could be said that no Spartan was ever killed in
combat. So the ceremony was a tribute, more than a burial."
• Narrator: "It doesn't look like much."
• Lt. Shah: "Chief told me once, that no soldier should be honored for
doing what is expected."
• Narrator: "Do you believe that?"
• Lt. Shah: "I did. And I still do."
51
52. JOHN 117 MONUMENT
52
54. MUSEUM
• Museum[1] is a live-action TV trailer that was part of the Believe
advertisement campaign for Halo 3. It was the first video released in the
Believe campaign, beginning the only authorized real world Halo 3 live
action film series to date other than the Halo Shorts.
• It takes place in the Museum of Humanity and concerns an interview with
a retired UNSC soldier who fought in the Second Battle of Earth. The
soldier in question is Major Pawel Czernek who served from 2551-2581.
• In the trailer an unknown voice questions the retired soldier, whilst he
views a miniature representation of a battle between UNSC and Covenant
forces. This representation turns out to be the Diorama, and was later
available for fans to take a closer look at on Halo3.com
• The text "Next Halo 3 Video Premiere: 9/14/07 9 A.M. PT" appears at the
end of the video.
54
55. MUSEUM
• Interviewer: Can you tell us what you remember about the battle?
• Czernek: We'd been fighting for a while. On the seventh day we
ran out of ammo. We had to scavenge all we could from the
weapons that had been left behind. Pistols, shotgun rounds, a
handful of grenades...
• Interviewer: Do you remember where you were?
• Czernek: When Master Chief armed his grenade, I was in the back
of an overturned Warthog, firing an M41.
• Interviewer: How did you manage to keep it together?
• Czernek: We knew Master Chief was still in the fight. He gave us
hope.
• (Czernek sees the figure in the diorama representing himself, and
is silent in thought. Fade to black. Tagline "BELIEVE" fades in)

56. HUNTED
• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1zWeaVZpsM
• Hunted is a TV ad, part of the Believe series
and follows one Marine's story of fighting and
hiding from Covenant forces. First aired on
September 22, 2007, the video later appeared
on the John-117 Monument flash site at
Halo3.com on September 25, 2007. Synopsis
56
57. HUNTED
• In the video, an unnamed former UNSC Marine describes a
harrowing night he and his unit spent out in a group of woods, as
he walks through them several years later.
• Pausing to point out plasma scoring on a tree trunk caused by a
Plasma Rifle, he then approaches a clearing where he and his unit
hid throughout the night and described how they hid from the
group of Covenant soldiers who were hunting them. The
interviewer turns the lights of the scene off with the Marine's
permission, and he describes the sounds of the Covenant forces
moving through the woods.
• He concludes the interview saying that during that night, his unit
had no choice but to be still and quiet in the clearing, "and wait
for Master Chief." After seven hours of hiding, the Chief finally
showed up to rescue them.

58. BELIEVE
combattere contro i nemici Covenant.

59. “BELIEVE”

and Devices Division di Microsoft)

64. BELIEVE
“A hero is more than a person, a hero is a belief. A belief
that, against impossible odds, the world can be saved -
and that the world is still worth saving. Heroes inspire
that belief in us. They renew our faith and give us that
most precious of all gifts – hope.
The world needs heroes. That’s why, when a true hero
arrives, the world will honor him.”

• Agenzia: TRIBAL DDB Amsterdam
• Produzione: Stink Digital, London.
l’inizio

69. “The Best Job in the World”
- case study -
sconosciute.
mondo. Un premio che non è un premio ... è un lavoro …
• … è il “THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD”.
70. L’idea creativa

80. L’idea creativa
Risultati: alcune misure quantificabili che illustrano l'impatto
dell’idea creativa includono:
raggiungere un pubblico di circa 5.000.000.000 di persone;

World”;

85. OLD SPICE
• La campagna The Man Your Man Could Smell Like è stato il caso dell’anno
invaso tv, giornali, youtube, blogs, facebook.
86. OLD SPICE
• “Salve ragazze. Guardate il vostro uomo, ora guardate me, ora
ancora il vostro uomo, ora di nuovo me. Sfortunatamente, lui non
è me.
ad usare Old Spice, lui potrebbe profumare come fosse me.
Guardate in basso, ora in alto: dove vi trovate?
come Old Spice. Sì, sono su un cavallo”.

88. 2010 - IKEA FACEBOOK SHOWROOM
KEA spread the word on the opening of
their Malmö store in Sweden with the
creation of an online showroom hosted on
Facebook. The campaign was focused on
tagged photographs on,
facebook.com/ikeagordon, the specially
created profile of Gordon Gustavsson, the
new store’s manager. Over a two week
period,12 different pictures of showrooms
from the new store were uploaded to the
profile page. Facebook members who had
requested Gordon as a friend could then
tag themselves to a specific item in each
photo and in doing so, win that particular
Ikea product. The campaign won a Gold
Cyber Lion at Cannes International
Advertising Festival.

• Promo & Activation: American Rom
• http://youtu.be/Tt9NBtW4sbA
Bello.
