first place you might want to get to is Kakadu National Park situated 175
kilometres east of Darwin and being the largest park in the country. It homes
large forests which jut up against enormous cliffs, aboriginal rock art and a
multitude of wetlands. It is one of the most famous and exciting National Parks

The second place to stop over at is Katherine Gorge and Nitmiluk National

rapids. It is situated a 1/2 day travel south of Darwin. You can get to Katherine
in public transport but, again, it is rare and tiresome. You are much better off

Another place to visit is The Devil's Marbles in Tennant Creek which hosts a
boastful aboriginal culture whereby round large granite rocks sit as though
placed by an enormous hand. This area is one of the most photographed in the

4. The fourth place to sojourn at on your road trip is Alice Springs which offers a
plethora of outdoor activities such as as gem-pursuits and mountaineering. This
is the largest town in the red centre and is a great place to stop and restock
your campervan. There are some fantastic places to visit around Alice so you
should allow for a couple of days here.
The last but definitely not the least place to drop by while on your road trip is
Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Uluru and the almost identical colored Kata
Tjuta rock formations are truly a sight to behold as they are abundant with
ancient petroglyphs, local watering holes and regional wildlife. It is an amazing
experience to watch the colours change at sunrise and sunset and no visit to the
red centre of Australia would be complete with coming to Uluru. The
accommodation is limited in the park, but with your campervan hire, you won't
