Roy Carrington has several years experience as a Camera Operator/ Producer - in virtually all the major areas
in the industry in the New York metro area. He has a solid background in Broadcast, Cable and Corporate
Video Productions.
He started his career in broadcast television working on Sesame Street and Electric Company television
programs on PBS as a camera operator, as well as other studio operational positions. He then broadened his
knowledge of the industry by working for Westinghouse Broadcasting and Cable Inc. as studio and field
operations manager.
His education ranges from attending Allen University to Radio Electronics Television School (Electronic
Engineering Technology course) which laid a foundation for his technical career. He also attended a host of
Sony and JVC video maintenance schools.
He is an Emmy and ACE award winner and has countless other television awards, such as Who's Who in
American Entertainment, Advertising and Communications.
As an independent contractor Roy has worked as a camera operator and visual communications technician
for many Fortune 500 companies including: Pfizer Inc., Lehman Bros., NBA, NFL Films, RCA and Columbia
Records, HBO, Showtime, VH1 and MTV Networks, Johnson & Johnson, Price Waterhouse, American
Express, MasterCard International, Calvin Klein, DKNY and Microsoft.
In the field of entertainment, he has worked with a host of noted celebrities such as: Tony Bennett, Mick
Jagger, Ed Bradley, Elizabeth Taylor, Dustin Hoffman, Bill Cosby, Lena Horne, Pierce Brosnan, Dan Rather,
Carol Burnett, Eli Wallach, Morgan Freeman, Toni Morrison, Babara Walters, Lucille Ball, Lucie Arnaz, Rita
Moreno, Gladys Knight, Charlie Rose, Jay-Z, Yo-Yo Ma and Senator Barack Obama.
Roy has worked in the following productions:
Production Manager/Technical Supervisor: Broadcast productions such as “The Shooting of Dan McGrew”
and “Andrew Jackson & The Battle of New Orleans” – National Dance Institute & Joseph Papp and The NY
Shakespeare Festival, with Cloris Leachman, Judy Collins, Ann Reinking, Michael Tolan and The Boys Choir
of Harlem.
Executive Producer: “The New York Beauty Classic” – a 30-minute nationally televised special.
Camera Operator/Video Engineer: Spot commercials such as “This Is Bobby Short” and “Everybody Loves
Huggy Bean”; and PBS documentary “Welcome to the Bahamas”.
