The African Journal of Development Programme and Research (AJODPAR) is a peer-reviewed journal published three times a year by the Centre for Development Research and Training, part of the Population Welfare and Empowerment Foundation in Nigeria. The journal aims to encourage research collaboration and sharing of best practices in development. It publishes papers on development actions and research in Africa and beyond. Authors are invited to submit theoretical, empirical and case study papers for the first issue.

African Journal of Development Programme and Research
(AJODPAR) is a peer reviewed journal published by Centre for
Development Research and Training (CDRT), a research and
training unit of Population Welfare and Empowerment
Foundation (POWEF), Ile-Ife, Nigeria. POWEF is a membership,
non-governmental organization (NGO) devoted to promoting
quality of life through sustainable development programmes.
The mission of AJODPAR is to encourage research, promote local
and international collaboration and sharing of best practices
among development organizations, donor agencies, training and
research institutions, individual consultants, volunteers and
community stakeholders. The Journal will publish high quality
papers that focus on development actions and researches across Africa and beyond. It will promote
access of stakeholders to development information and trends across Africa and other developing
regions. AJODPAR is a broad-based journal covering interdisciplinary areas of development interventions
and research. AJODPAR is published three times a year. The e-copy of journal will be distributed across
the world through e-mail to universities, libraries, training and research institutions, Inter-governmental
agencies, donor organizations, International NGOs and relevant corporate bodies. POWEF has
developed a directory of email addresses of over 5000 national and international NGOs, Foundations,
donor agencies, academic and research Institutions and intergovernmental agencies for electronic
distribution of ajodpar.
Papers are therefore invited for Vol. 1, No. 1 (June 2014) maiden edition of the journal. The journal will
publish theoretical and empirical papers, case studies, research notes and project profile of researchers,
academic, training and research institutions, donor agencies and foundations, governmental and nongovernmental organizations.
Manuscript Submission: Manuscripts for publication must be written in English. Research papers must
be prepared in accordance with APA’s guidelines while profile of development initiatives must have title,
location and duration of project, name of organization, abstract, background, objectives, strategies and
activities, outcome and or success stories, challenges, conclusion and recommendation for replication
and or scale-up among others. Authors should send their manuscripts electronically to the Editor
(ajodpar@powef.org). All contributions will undergo peer review process. Papers distributed for peer
review will exclude names of author(s) or organization(s). Upon submission of an article, the author(s)
are considered to have transferred the copyright of the article to African Journal of Development
Programme and Research” (AJODPAR). Papers previously published or are under consideration for

2. publication elsewhere cannot be accepted. Authors must agree not to publish accepted papers
elsewhere without the prior permission from AJODPAR.
Acceptance of Papers and Publication
Letter of acceptance of articles for future publications will be written to author(s) or organization(s) by
The Secretary of the Editorial Board. Board’s approval of papers for publication is subject to completing
necessary corrections or providing additional information as recommended by the Editorial Board
Review Team (EBRT). Publication of article in AJODPAR does not therefore follow date of submission.
Each of the individuals or organizations whose paper is published will be given two complimentary
copies of the edition where the article is published. PDF copy of the published journal can also be
downloaded from POWEF website at www.ajodpar.powef.org
Articles for publication, accompanied with evidence of payment of N20,000 (or USD150) being cost of
editorial peer review and completed copyright agreement form can be submitted through email
attachment to: ajodpar@powef.org
