GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) is a cellular network standard proposed in the 1990s by ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) to provide encrypted communications across multiple frequency bands for roaming, messaging, and data transmission. It uses TDM and SIM cards, with cell towers allowing coverage within networks. GSM is widely used in embedded systems through modules like Sim300 and Sim900 to enable connectivity for mobile devices, vehicles, home automation, irrigation control, and the growing Internet of Things.

Mobile data usage is growing exponentially, increasing pressure on mobile networks. As a result, mobile operators are looking for more cost-effective backhaul solutions using ethernet, wavelengths, and dark fibre. Colt has experience providing metro fibre backhaul services in European cities using their fibre assets and relationships with landlords. Their solution aims to improve network capabilities and reduce costs for mobile operators by sharing fibre connectivity between cell sites rather than point-to-point connections. Colt's extensive fibre network and experience in 28 countries positions them to provide scalable, flexible, and future-proof mobile backhaul solutions.
The document discusses 5G technologies and the 5G Innovation Centre (5GIC) at the University of Surrey. It provides background on the 5GIC, which was established through UK government funding and industry partnerships to conduct research on 5G. The 5GIC aims to provide a large-scale 5G testbed and opportunities for companies to engage in 5G research. The document then outlines key drivers for the development of 5G technologies, including growing connectivity needs, limited spectrum resources, and demands for higher speeds and lower latency. It discusses some of the technological challenges 5G aims to address, such as new air interfaces, use of higher frequency spectrum including millimeter waves, and more intelligent and adaptive network architectures.
The document describes soundproof server cabinets that are designed to absorb noise from active equipment mounted inside. They have wood exteriors and glass fronts. Soundproofing materials and silent fan modules keep noise levels within the cabinet at 29-30dB or lower. Technical details are provided on fan specifications, dimensions, material properties, and certifications of various cabinet models. Diagrams show engineering drawings of sample 12U, 16U, 26U, 36U, and 42U cabinet designs.
A fiber optic patch cord is a cable with connectors at each end to rapidly connect optical switches, CATV equipment, and other telecommunications equipment. Patch cords come in single or multi-fiber versions with connectors selected for the interfacing equipment. They are used to flexibly interconnect active and passive optical devices in applications like datacom networks, broadband networks, and CATV networks.

IP-PDU is the latest scientific achievement of UPCOM after many years of dedicated research. On the trend of future power distribution management technology development, combining the technology requirement of the modern data center application environment, adopting key technology with fully independent intellectual property, the product is designed in combination of network communication, power distribution and network management and hot swappable technology.
Depending on battery type and application, Lead Acid batteries have a design life that can range from 5 to 20 years. That design life estimation is based on the battery being maintained in accordance with recommended practices, operating under ideal conditions and ensuring that any individual failing units are replaced before they impact the other units in the string.
However, in most installations, those conditions are seldom met, and the actual life of a battery may be closer to half of the published design life. This potential for failure has been confirmed in a number of studies over the years. In fact, in one Ponemon study into Data Center failures, the UPS Battery was responsible for over 50% of the reported outages. This data, and the uncertainty of most operating environments, confirms why battery monitoring is an essential part of maintaining today’s systems.
The document describes rack cabinets and wall mounting cabinets. It provides details on their construction, including their dimensions, materials, load capacity, and certifications. It also lists accessories like shelves, fans, and power distribution units that can be added. Color and size options are given.
Trunk cable assemblies are a key component in today’s dense fiber optic networks. Standard cable styles and connectors are stocked and can be quickly assembled for your most pressing needs. Fiber Connections assembles trunk cables with any combination of multi-fiber and single fiber connectors. The finished assemblies save time and costs at the installation site.
Custom labeling is available to make installation clear and simple. Once completed and tested, each assembly is wound onto a shipping reel for quick and easy installation. A ruggedized pulling eye, offered as an option, provides protection for the connectors and easy installation.
This document provides product information for various sensors and modules that are compatible with UP-Guard security and monitoring systems. It includes specifications for IP cameras, smoke detectors, magnetic contacts, PIR detectors, vibration sensors, proximity readers, proximity cards, signal towers, sirens, power adapters and many other sensors for temperature, humidity, air flow, flood detection, voltage monitoring, dry contacts, relays, alarms and more. Compatible devices include models UP-Guard3001, UP-Guard2001, UP-Guard6001 and others. Technical specifications like measurement ranges, tolerances, resolutions, maximum distances and compatible systems are provided for each product.
