- Names are only C# compiler syntax sugar**. They aren't represented at runtime Struct with mutable fields. Why mutable? Why Struct? It is quicker as it avoid heap allocations (assuming creations will be more frequent then passing them around) Why mutable? Thinks as them as a bad of variables Equality and GetHashCodon'tde implemented for efficiency. Deconstruction + Deconstruction for any object Notes: Requires System.ValueTuple Benefits: Return multiple values Naming! Very intuitive syntax Disadvantages: No metadata in IL, not recommended to use in API
- You can do method dispatching independently by the inheritance hierarchy.
- Avoid extra allocation of reference task Methods may return an instance of this value type when it's likely that the result of their operations will be available synchronously and when the method is expected to be invoked so frequently that the cost of allocating a new Task for each call will be prohibitive. There is only the generic version
- Satefy is preserved. you cannot have a reference variable refer to storage that is a candidate for garbage collection You cannot assign a value to a ref variable. You cannot return a ref to a variable whose lifetime does not extend beyond the execution of the method.
