RE: Reference for Danielle Fitzpatrick
Danielle joined Bytecraft in 1986, after having successfully completed a Certificate in IT and Administration.
Throughout her entire employment, she has been hardworking, trustworthy and dedicated. She has played an
instrumental part in the development and growth of the company throughout the 1990's.
On joining the company she managed the office administration, dealing with telephone enquiries, preparing
invoices, managing the delivery ofIT parts. During this time Danielle, gained a good ground in
understanding the workings of the business, as well as gaining a good grasp ofIT.
As the company experienced further growth during the 1990's, so did the role that Danielle undertook. In
1990, she took over the Account Management and Business Management of the business. This involved
managing the Portfolio of existing clients, dealing with a range of suppliers and negotiating deals for the
supply of parts, managing the recruitment and retention of staff
In 1995, she developed her IT skills further, becoming a certified Novell Administrator. With this
qualification, came a new role of technical support. This gave Danielle an excellent opportunity to develop
her skills in dealing with customers, sometimes in difficult situations. Danielle's ability to manage clients has
been an asset to the firm and is clearly one of her strengths. Feedback from clients has been that she is a
personable, friendly and open individual who has shown that she is always keen to meet their needs.
In managing the increase in the number of employees, Danielle managed everything from sourcing
prospective candidates, putting them through a recruitment process and dealing with referencing. Once
people were employed, Danielle assumed responsibility for "personnel" activities, such as payroll, inducting
them into the business, discussing their training needs and acting as a point of contact if they had any issues or
concerns. Alongside this, she also took over the management of the accounts, cash management, stock
control and payroll. Danielle is well respected by the rest of the employees and is very much a team player.
Having worked for a small, yet growing business Danielle has shown an excellent ability for adapting to
change, not least in the scope of her role, which has continued to change over the years. This has meant that
at times, she has had to 'muck in' in order for us to meet deadlines and has had to undertake new activities,
which she has taken in her stride.
In 1999, Danielle decided that she wanted to pursue an interest in developing her own business. However, as
an asset to the firm it was agreed that she would continue to work for us on a part-time basis. This has been
the arrangement for the last two years.
Although I am sad to see that Danielle feels she has outgrown the role, I would have no hesitation in
recommending her to any prospective employer. I am in no doubt that she would be an asset to any company.
