The Brazos Valley Solid Waste Management Agency (BVSWMA) operates the Twin Oaks Landfill. From 2011-2020, the landfill had no TCEQ violations and clean annual audits. It has expanded to around 1,000 acres. Gate rates decreased from 2011-2020 for city customers and increased slightly for non-city customers in 2020. Projected 2020 results show higher revenue and lower expenses than budgeted. The 2021 budget forecasts lower revenue but higher expenses due to capital projects like cell construction and equipment replacement. BVSWMA will host a household hazardous waste collection event on October 24, 2020.
