This document outlines four types of buying decisions based on the level of consumer involvement and significance of the purchase: 1) Low involvement purchases with insignificant differences between brands often result in habitual or dissonance reducing buying. 2) High involvement purchases with complex differences between brands tend to involve more variety seeking behavior.
