Schmutzer Primate Center, Ragunan zoo
Schmutzer Primate center is located in South Jakarta,
Indonesia. It is one of the largest in places in the world
and houses of many different primate species, 22
species to be précised, such as gorillas, chimpanzees
and orangutans and the land is about 13ha. The
facilities are designed where the animals can decide if
they want to be seen or not and where the natural food
is provided. There are 84 trees for them to explore the
environment as well as the bridge and trees canopy.

Schmutzer is named after the founder Mrs. Puck
Scmutzer, who gave most of her money into this
project. This wonderful place was opened for public in
2002. 7 days a week, 9 am - 5 pm. The tickets are Rp
5000; and for adult and Rp 3000; for kid. They also
have good facilities for the visitors as well, like free
toilet, bench, and natural water. We are not allowed to
bring food, drink, guns, etc. Therefore they have
storage counter for that. And we are prohibited to give
