Macrophages were cultured and stimulated with Lipopolysaccharide (LPS). RNA was extracted and analyzed using RT-PCR and gel electrophoresis to measure expression levels. LPS stimulation increased expression of TNF-α, TLR2 and TLR4, but expression of NOD2 and IL-6 was low or absent with LPS. Sources of error in the analysis and future work are discussed.
