This document describes the challenges of building a startup company against the odds in 2011, including difficulties obtaining capital and finding good people, as well as a small market and restrictive laws/regulations. It then discusses how the company made some progress by hiring employees across 4 countries and gaining users and distributed support in over 170 countries. The company was able to grow from 2011 by reinvesting and having common values and beliefs around purpose, admiration, ownership and progress. It fast forwards 6 years to note improvements like government startup programs, events, accelerators and investment funds that helped startups.
