The Blue River Valley school district is proposing a 1:1 technology initiative to provide every student from kindergarten through 12th grade with their own computing device. Younger students would receive Kindle Fires or similar tablets, while older students would receive 2GoPC convertible tablets. The goals of the initiative are to prepare students for 21st century work environments, create a more relevant and motivating learning environment, and improve the quality of student work through personalized instruction. The timeline shows a committee forming in fall 2011, a pilot program launching in spring 2013, and full implementation in fall 2013 when all BRV students would receive their own devices.

The use of educational technology inside and outside the classroom is changing the way we teach. New models like the"flipped classroom” have emerged as more effective ways to transfer knowledge and engage learners meaningfully.
However, technology is just one aspect of the learning environment in classrooms. In this talk, I touch on the design of physical classroom space, and question the very need for constructs like grade divisions and classroom walls.
I touch on examples such as the School of One in New York, visuals of fresh classroom designs and South African experiments, like Judi Francisco's JustBlendit! experiment at Micklefield Primary.

Abstract:
Computing is now one of the fastest growing fields of employment, with a large bias placed on developing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in schools. However, due to the fast pace of technology development, it is increasingly difficult for schools to keep up with the latest computing methodologies. A possible solution is the use of university outreach programmes, whereby local universities can provide training workshops on areas that can be challenging for schools to implement. This can be problematic, as there is a perceived lack of interest in the methods used to interact with secondary school pupils on a university level.
This paper introduces a week long ‘Easter Computing School’, comprising of five workshop sessions on different topics. These sessions were analysed in terms of user engagement, to better understand aspects that are important to secondary school pupils. It was found that a combination of theory and interactive workshop sessions can provide the highest levels of engagement and their use is encouraged in future workshop design.

A business may deal with both sales and purchases occasionally. They buy things from vendors and then sell them to their customers. Such dealings can be confusing at times. Because multiple clients may inquire about the same product at the same time, after purchasing those products, customers must be assigned to them. Odoo has a tool called Reception Report that can be used to complete this assignment. By enabling this, a reception report comes automatically after confirming a receipt, from which we can assign products to orders.
