Fall 2015: The Personality of a Therapist
Supervised by Dr. Scott Brandhorst
Completed as an honors contract research project for PY441: Introduction to Clinical Psychology. Analyzed
existing research on ideal traits for a psychotherapist and gave a brief presentation to the Psychology Club
including the Big Five Inventory for students to compare aspects of their personalities to the ideal traits.

Approximately 90 hours served at the Lutheran Family and Children’s Services (LFCS) planning, observing, and
facilitating activities during a weekly group of individuals with early-stage dementia.
Approximately 30 hours served at Saint Francis Medical Center with neuropsychologist Dr. Steven Jordan;
attended trauma rounds meetings, observed pre-assessment interviews with patients, intelligence and
neuropsychological testing, and visitations with in-patients in crisis.
