Rehab of social ministry / educational center - Center will provide link to homes for
education and training. Participants will be linked, via web conferencing equipment to
experts in the US and worldwide to offer the opportunity and the tools for participants to
move into home ownership, micro-enterprise creation to build personal assets and
properly steward their income.
Neighborhood Assistance Program Tax credit return focused on a blighted area that
supports the development of Cape Girardeau under the Dream Initiative.
IDA tax credit and matched funds that provide access to resources and opportunity.
Allow congregations to centralize their outreach and both bring many people together
for ongoing outreach ministries and training ministries and give people struggling to get
out of poverty the tools they need to work with others who care and love them to move
toward dignity and self-determination in life while building their fellowship connections.
Similar to the Kentucky state program, Scholar House, which provides Temporary
Assistance support, housing, and daycare to qualified single parents, who work toward
a university degree, Magnolia Manor will provide the ongoing support and strength of
trained and dedicated mentor teams along with Project HOPE staff to develop and work
participants’ life plan for success, while linking with mainstream service support efforts.
Link to home ownership opportunities, such as Habitat for Humanities sweat equity
home ownership program. With the use of matched savings asset development
accounts, participants can reduce the down payment or the overall loan by as much as
$ 6,000.00 using their savings of $ 2,000.00 along with their designated matched funds.
Fellowship opportunities for people, who tend to isolate themselves because of near
overwhelming problems. Facing life’s problems and moving forward with a dignified
plan for self-determination.
Former participants are now coming to town with business investments and choosing to
hire people in recovery, re-entry, etc. being mentored by Project HOPE partners and
members, thus giving back to help others reach for success and opportunity.
Establishing the neighborhood potential of quality, truly affordable homes that are
Energy Star and energy self-sufficient with the potential to “give energy back” to society
is a key to the opportunity of a lifetime for participants who invest in home ownership.
Homes are also safe in storms and present ultra safe living environments while
recycling used water, etc.
