- Tattoos originated as early as 3300 BC among ancient cultures like those in Egypt, China, Japan, and Polynesia. The modern practice of tattooing was rediscovered by Europeans when they encountered Polynesian and American Indian cultures.
- Tattooing involves inserting pigment under the skin using needles, and the word "tattoo" comes from the Polynesian words "tatau," meaning "to tap," and "tau," meaning "color."
- Proper tattoo aftercare involves keeping the tattoo moist with ointment during healing to prevent infection and allow the tattoo to fully integrate with the skin.
Unfortunately our education systems fail to produce people who know “why” they want to do what they want to do. Often you hear no more than superficial reasons like “I want to get rich”, “I want to travel the world”, …that obviously lack the substance to serve as a truly fulfilling goal in life.

If you wake up 10 days in a row, wondering why you are currently doing what you do, then you haven’t found something that truely motivates you. Or it is time to move on. You see, life is to short, to spend your time doing things you don’t really feel like doing. Life is too short to fulfil other people’s expectations and not your own. Life is to short to never take a shot at your dreams. So lead the way.
Lucas Ossendrijver has been the creative director of Lanvin menswear for nine years. He discusses his design process, which focuses on innovative fabrics and relaxed silhouettes. Ossendrijver starts each season by researching new textiles with manufacturers in Japan and Italy. He then drapes fabrics on mannequins to develop silhouettes, preferring hands-on prototyping over sketches. Ossendrijver also emphasizes an open exchange of ideas with colleagues and an organic approach to styling runway shows. While fashion moves quickly, he questions where it is heading and hopes for a return to more reality and humility.

V.C. Johnson began drawing at a young age using pencils but found them messy. They discovered technical pens like the Rapidograph which gave precise ink lines. Johnson created many pen and ink drawings in their 20s exploring different techniques. While popular for their detailed commercial art, Johnson struggled with substance abuse which took a toll on their health. They have since sought therapy and explored different art mediums like woodcut printing and scratchboard which allow for more control and accidental effects compared to precise pen and ink work.

7. Tattoo Aftercare:
After you get inked up the
artist puts a piece of thick
bandage. Your supposed to
keep it on for about 2-4
hours so dirt won’t enter
since a tattoo is like a fresh
cut. When you remove the
bandage wash it with warm
water and anti bacterial
soap. After that your
supposed to put some
ointment called “A&D”
personally I use Neosporin.
When it starts heeling it’s
going to itch, so don't peel
off the scabs.

10. I have 5 tattoos and many more to come. Once you start you can’t stop.
I’ve started getting them when I turned 16. Up till now I already have
ideas of my next ones. The one on my my right wrist means “Love” the
one on my left wrist means “Faith.” The one on my right inner arm says
“Never let the hand you hold, hold you down.” The one on my ribs is a
cross. The one on my back is a sugar skull flower of some sort, with the
female sign embedded. The one on my back I designed, when I first
drew it out it was just a normal flower, then I added the face, and then
the female sign. It’s my favorite one because it’s original, no one has it
but me…at least I think so. None of them hurt except the one on my
ribs. My next idea in mind is an eye behind my neck. We’ll see how that
one turns out. When people ask me if I have any trouble with them, the
truth is no. I’m not planning to get into any fancy career. A plumber or a
technician don’t have to worry about hiding their ink…at least I don’t
think so. Well that’s it for now.
