Dr. A A Bazil Raj obtained his B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bharathidasan University and M.E and Ph.D degrees in related fields from Anna University. He has worked in research on free space optical communication and as a faculty member teaching and researching laser communication. He has published 4 books and 33 scientific papers, and has experience reviewing journals and serving on editorial boards. His research interests include various areas of digital signal processing, optics, hardware design, and instrumentation.

1. Brief Profile
Dr. A A Bazil Raj obtained his B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the
Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, and M.E degree in Communication Systems &
Ph.D degree in Information and Communication Technology from the Anna University,
Chennai. His research work on Free Space Optical Communication was fully funded by the
Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), New Delhi, under the ER&IPR
project. Since, October 2015, he is working in the Department of Electronics Engineering in
DIAT (DU), Pune. Prior to this institute he was a faculty in the Research, Development and
Establishment (RD&E) section of Laser Communication Laboratory (LCL) facility in
Thanjavur from 2002 to 2015.
He published four books that are designed based on his teaching and research experience. He
has authored 33 scientific papers published in reputed international journals and conference
proceedings. He has delivered invited talks, chaired technical sessions in national and
international conferences. He has successfully completed research projects sponsored by
government and non-government sectors/laboratories. He is a Reviewer in various journals of
IEEE, Springer, OSA, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, SAGE and Elsevier etc., He is also an active
editorial board member of the reputed journals. He is a Member of ISTE, IEEE, IET and
SPIE. His research interests cover the digital modulation, free-space & adaptive optics,
hardware design of neural network, Digital control design, VLSI, signal processing,
microrobotics, T&M instrument design, Radar signal processing and empirical modeling.
