Reason for Fabric Selection:
When it comes to weddings the brides
will be sitting, moving around, and
dancing. This is why it is imperative that
a wedding dress is less prone to
becoming wrinkled. Most cellulose
based fibers, such as cotton, linen, and
rayon are more prone to wrinkles
because they are able to absorb water
more readily and will lock in the creases
when dry. However, polyester has a
glass-transition temperature that
prevents it from forming wrinkles easily.
The long chains in this man-made fiber
gives a shine finish which allows the
dress to photograph well. Polyester is
also a strong lightweight fabric that
doesn't stretch as easily; this is really
important when it comes to bridal
dresses, because it ensures that the
dress will not start falling down
throughout the event.
