With a strong background in the catering industry, with several awards won on behalf
of previous company, am currently seeking a position where existing knowledge and
skills can be utilised and developed. An on-going dedication to academic studies
reflect the enthusiasm for work and ambition. Have worked in a variety of kitchens
including one, which catered for over 3000 people per day, with stock control being a
particular strong point. Always giving 100% commitment, is experienced in working
to demanding targets and timescales, and has a vast knowledge of health, hygiene
and safety.

My main duties are to make sure that the teams are doing the jobs they were ask to do,
making sure that meals are out on time, training to new members of staff, I also do some
ordering and menu planning, making sure that the clean schedule is done on weekly, buy
weekly and monthly bases and doing food preparation when on duty
Sept 2008 – July 2009 Customer Care Assistant Quicksilver
Working on shop floor, main duties to ensure that customers have necessary change to play
the machines, which assists is key to achieving sales targets; other duties include ensuring
that the shop is clean and tidy at all times, providing a high standard of customer service at
all times, and provide an
on-site security presence, aiming to minimise any potential issues. Covered my colleagues
in the branch, helping with staff cover, holidays and sickness etc, undertaking any other
duties as required as by branch manager.
Nov 1998 - 2005 Chef Manager Eurest
Eurest is recognised as providing the highest of quality catering and support services
to business and industry. Whilst working with them I held the post of chef then
Manager at two locations, Alloa Business Park, Stirling and Otterburn Training
Camp, where duties included consulting with clients, organisation of staff, stock
checking and rotation, completion of relevant paperwork, ordering and staff wages.
June – Nov 1998 Chef Harp Hotel, Edinburgh
Working as a member of the management team, my main duties included managing
the day-to-day operation of the carvery, supervising the starters counter, food
preparation and presentation and all other general kitchen duties. Other duties
included managing the weekly stocktake of produce and food products, which gave
us the ability to ensure a full availability for the menu, a tight control over costs, and
ultimately profitability.
Aug 1995 – June 1998 Hospitality and Catering West Lothian College
Student at college, studying hospitality and catering, working on my ambition to
become a chef. Studied all necessary prerequisites including food preparation and
hygiene, management and IT units. Hard work, but excellent training and
development in the industry.
May 1992 – July 1995 Production Operative Marshalls Food Group
Working as a member of the production AV-line, where my duties included cleaning
and gutting poultry in preparation for further processing in the factory. Worked under
strict hygiene conditions, and was responsible for ensuring that the line achieved,
and maintained all such standards at all times
1986 – 1991 Army Soldier H.M. Forces
For the last six months of my service, I began my career in hospitality by starting as
Silver Service waiter, moving then to Head Waiter until my discharge.
