4. The goal of life is not to become a pure
Brahmacari.
The goal of life is to attain the stage of pure
bhakti to the Lord.
But however, practicing brahmacarya is very
important.
5. The meaning of brahmacarya
śrī-nārada uvāca
brahmacārī gurukule
vasan dānto guror hitam
ācaran dāsavan nīco
gurau sudṛḍha-sauhṛdaḥ
6. A student should practice completely
controlling his senses. He should be
submissive and should have an
attitude of firm friendship for the
spiritual master. With a great vow,
the brahmacäri should live at the
guru-kula, only for the benefit of the
guru.
(SB 7.12.1)
7. karmaëä manasä väcä sarvävasthäsusarvadä
sarvatra maithuna-tyägo brahmacaryaà pracakñate
"The vow of brahmacarya is meant to help one completely
abstain from sex indulgence in work, words and mind—at
alltimes,under allcircumstances, and in allplaces.“
(Yajnavalkya-smrti)
Basically, brahmacarya means celibacy
8. No one can perform correct
yoga practice throughsex
indulgence.Brahmacarya is
taught,therefore, from
childhood, when one has no
knowledge of sex life.
9. Children at the age of five are
sent to the guru-kula, or the
place of the spiritual master,
and the master trains the
young boys in the strict
discipline of becoming
brahmacäris.

A good grihasta is a result of a good brahmacari

A householder who is strictly engaged in sexual
intercourse according to the scriptural injunction
is also brahmacari (grihasta-brahmacari)
A householder in which sense gratification is the
all in all, is called grihamedhi
No brahmacarya training will lead toward
grihamedhi life.
15. “brief picture on the grihamedhi life”

18. O best of the asuras, King of the demons, as far as I
have learned from my spiritual master, any person
who has accepted a temporary body and temporary
household life is certainly embarrassed by anxiety
because of having fallen in a dark well where there
is nowaterbut only suffering.
SB7.5.5
19. One should give up this position and go to the forest
[vana]. More clearly, one should go to Vrindävana,

of Godhead.
SB7.5.5
