experience in the design and manufacture of blast doors and
prefabricated fire and blast wall systems, fire, radiation-shielding,

gas, defence, nuclear, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, transport

9. We are the UK’s leading provider of steel blast doors and modular
wall systems.
Blast Doors
Blast doors are normally designed elastically so as to prevent
permanent deformation and remain operative after an explosion
event.
We are able to design doors to withstand in excess of 800 bar
pressure and are fully conversant with all major design and
construction codes.
We have been able to develop a strong position as a supplier to the
Ministry of Defence, including the Atomic Weapons Establishment,
Aldermaston. We are also a prominent supplier of blast doors and
walls for offshore oil and gas platforms worldwide.
Blast Walls
Our blast walls for lower spans and blast loads are
produced in a trapezoidal ‘Trough’ form. They are lighter and
quicker to install on site than traditional fabrications built from
conventional flat steel plate with welded stiffeners.
For higher spans and blast loads we provide a patented ‘Arch’
wall profile which is noticeably more efficient compared to the
conventional trapezoidal shape.

land-based and offshore fire containment applications. We design
and build large bespoke fire doors as well as producing a wide
range of pre-engineered personnel size doors, tested to British and
European fire test standards.
Commercial Fire Doors
Our comprehensive range of commercial doors contains products
tested to BS476 and BS EN1634-1 fire standards for both integrity
and insulation, in carbon and stainless steel constructions.
Our BOOTH-FD fire door is tested to EN1634-1 achieving an E240
performance rating in all conventional configurations, including:
• Latched & latch-less
• Single & double swing
• Single, double & unequal leaf
• Over and side panels.
It is also available with a full range of options including vision panels
and fire louvres.
In addition, we produce horizontal and vertical sliding fire doors
which are either manually operated or electrically driven. They are
available with integrity and insulation performance.
Hinged & Sliding Offshore Rated Fire Doors for
Oil & Gas Platforms and Refineries
Our range of fire doors for oil and gas projects is certified from A0
to H120 performance. Our doors are also available with project-
specific jet fire ratings. They are used extensively on oil and gas
platforms and vessels around the world.
Glazed Steel Doors & Screens
We are a Schueco partner company. In addition to steel faced door
sets we supply fire rated, steel framed glazed doors, screens and
curtain walling systems produced under the Jansen brand name
for architectural, retail and industrial projects.

13. Security Doors
Security doors protect people and property against physical
damage, providing maximum protection ranging from vandalism
to terrorist attack. Manual intervention tests are carried out using
a variety of tools for varying time periods. The more aggressive
the tools, and the longer the attack period, the higher the certified
performance level awarded.
Our range of security doors is available in a variety of performance
specifications to suit all levels of security risk. They are designed
and tested to withstand any form of assault, including prolonged
attack with power tools, and are tested to British and European
standards LPS1175, STS202 and EN1627. Our level 2 and 3
doors are supplied with flush frames, conventional butt hinges
and mortised heavy duty ironmongery for architectural appeal.
Included in our security product range are hinged and sliding
doors tested and approved by the Centre for the Protection of
National Infrastructure (CPNI) for Base, Enhanced and High
level performance.
Multi-purpose Doors
Specifiers are increasingly seeking doors which combine more than
one performance rating and to meet the demand for multi-purpose
products we have introduced our PREMIUM range which combines
fire, acoustic, security and blast performance in one door set.
And for architectural appeal they are produced with flush frames,
conventional butt hinges and fully mortised locking systems.

15. Acoustic doors are designed to prevent the passage of excessive
or unwanted noise in commercial, industrial and public buildings.
They are used externally, to keep noise levels within limits laid down
by Environmental Health Departments, and internally to reduce
the passage of sound between rooms. They are typically used in
manufacturing premises, recording studios, commercial offices
and auditoria.
We offer two ranges of hinged acoustic doors providing attenuation
ratings from Rw 29dB to Rw 57dB in single and double leaf
configurations, with fire ratings up to E240 and EI90:
H Range
Tested at Salford University to the ISO144-3 acoustic standard,
this range of doors is rated from Rw 29-48dB. They have also been
tested at Exova WarringtonFire to the BS EN1634-1 fire standard,
achieving 120 and 240 minutes integrity.
M Range
These doors are produced with insulated cores providing excellent
low frequency performance. They are available with very high
acoustic ratings up to Rw 57dB, and fire ratings of up to 90
minutes integrity and insulation.
In addition to personnel-size hinged doors, we design and
build special, large acoustic doors in hinged, sliding and bi-fold
configurations with manual or power operation.

17. Special fire-rated, pressure-resistant doors are used in cable
tunnels and for cross-passage emergency escape in High Speed
Rail, MTR and road tunnels projects. They are specified in single
swing, double swing, double egress and sliding configurations and
are typically stainless steel construction.
As well as providing protection against fire and smoke, these
doors resist the high positive and negative pressure levels created
by trains and large vehicles passing at high speed, which in rail
tunnels can be as high as +/-15kPa.
For rail and Metro stations we provide complete packages of
purpose designed, pressure resistant doors in ventilation shafts,
commercial grade doors for platforms, concourses and back-of-
house locations, and glass fire doors and screens for entrances
and booking halls, etc.
