The Boone and Crockett Club developed an official scoring and measurement system for big game trophies in response to public interest in their collection in the 1920s. They published the first big game records in 1932 and refined their scoring system over the following decades. Today, the program recognizes the top trophies across 24 categories every three years with awards, displays, and a final judging session.
