This document provides instructions for a book analysis assignment due on October 4, 2010. It must be submitted either in typed or neatly handwritten format and be double spaced. The analysis should include an introduction describing the book and reasons for choosing it, a section on characters, a section on the plot consisting of 3 paragraphs, and a conclusion critiquing the story, what was liked or disliked about it, and proposing an alternative ending.

Structure
I. Introduction (1-2 paragraphs, 7-8 sentences each)
a. Describe the type of book
b. Explain why you chose it
II. Characters
a. Describe the main characters of the story
III. Plot (3 paragraphs, 7-8 sentences each)
a. Describe the main idea and events in the story
IV. Conclusion (1-2 paragraphs, 7-8 sentences each)
a. Give a critical conclusion of the story
b. Explain what you like or did not like, and why
c. Propose an alternative ending.
