This document summarizes a student project that tested natural substances as potential herbicides. The project tested 15 common household substances on weeds to see their effects. Most acidic substances like vinegar and citrus oil killed the weeds. Alkaline substances like bleach and toothpaste also killed weeds. Clove oil killed weeds the fastest. The project concluded that using natural, non-chemical herbicides made from household substances could provide an environmentally-friendly alternative to commercial herbicides and reduce pollution.
