Ozone therapy was tested on rats with oral candidiasis, a fungal infection of the mouth caused by Candida species. Immunosuppressed rats were infected with Candida albicans and then treated with either ozone therapy or antifungal medication. The results showed that ozone therapy was effective at reducing the oral fungal load in immunosuppressed rats with candidiasis.
