This document describes Maiz Gigante del Cuzco, a type of giant corn cultivated in Cuzco, Peru. Its scientific name is Zea maiz var. Urubamba and it belongs to the grass family. It is known as Blanco Urubamba in Peru and is distributed in the Cuzco region. Besides its exceptionally large grains, it is a great source of protein and is mainly used as a snack and in soups. It is available whole grain or roasted and provides nutrients like protein, carbohydrates, fiber, calcium and iron.
