Sergeant Anthony Perez Jr. was born in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, NY
September 22, 1986. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in Brooklyn,
NY June 2007. Upon completing Recruit Training at MCRD Parris
Island, SC he attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, NC
and the Basic Warehouseman Course at Camp Johnson, NC. PVT Perez
was assigned to Headquarters & Service Company, 2nd
Battalion 5th
Marines 1st
Marine Division in San Mateo, Camp Pendleton, Ca.
In May 2008 Private First Class Perez Deployed with the 15th
Marine
Expeditionary Unit (MEU) as the Personal Effects NCIOC and Shipping
and Receiving NCOIC while handling all Warehouse Operations being
“the go to guy” for the Battalion. In August 2008 he was promoted
to the rank of Lance Corporal. Upon promotion, Lance Corporal
Perez became a part of the Quick Reaction Force (QRF) for
operations in Kuwait and Jordan to ensure proper security of the
Forward Operations Base. (FOB)
In August 2009 Lance Corporal Perez deployed with the 31st
MEU
Okinawa Japan as the Warehouse NCOIC. LCpl Perez took charge of
the MEU Supply wall to wall and re organization of the warehouse
for efficient operations and daily tasks. Toward the end of the
deployment he became the acting Supply Chief for the Battalion and
was promoted to Corporal in March 2010.
Corporal Perez reported to 3rd
Marine Aircraft Group 16 (MAG) Marine
Corps Air Station, CA in January 2011 as the Warehouse NCOIC. Cpl
Perez attached to Heavy Machine Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 462 as
the Supply Chief where he deployed to Afghanistan in support of
Operation Enduring Freedom 11-2 in June 2011 through January 2012.
Upon his return, Cpl Perez attended and completed Corporals Course
at Miramar, CA and the Brig Chasers course. He was then promoted
to his current rank of Sergeant in May 2013 where he became the
Warehouse Chief for MAG 16. In August 2013 Sergeant Perez attended
and completed Sergeants Course MCB 29 Palms, CA.
In January 2014 Sergeant Perez reported to 3D Marine Special
Operations Battalion as the Supply Warehouse Chief where he is
currently stationed. In October 2014 Sergeant Perez graduated from
the Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor Course. Sergeant Perez
mentors and manages 5 Marines of lessor grade for the mission
accomplishment of the Battalion.
Sergeants Perez’s personal awards and decoration include (3) Marine
Corps Certificate of commendation, (3) Sea Service Deployment
ribbon, (2) Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Navy Meritorious Unit
Commendation, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NATO Medal-ISAF
Afghanistan, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War On
Terrorism Expeditionary Service Medal, National Defense Service
Medal.
Sergeant Perez is married to Adriana Perez who works as a Nurse for
the elderly. They have 5 kids together. Their names are Joshua,
Kevin, Melina, Mia, and Leilani.
