The Transcendental Meditation (TM) tradition often recommends 20 minutes, twice daily. Why is 4 AM the best time to meditate? The most auspicious times to meditate are at 4 AM and 4 PM. It is said that the angle between the earth and the sun is 60 degrees and that being in a sitting position at these times will balance the pituitary and pineal glands giving you maximum results.
