IS IT ANYBODY 'S BIRTHDAY TODAY "GET UP" My little Brother was standing above me "GET
UP IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY AREN'T YOU EXCITED?!? I got out of bed because I did not think my
eardrums could take anymore. For my birthday breakfast my Mom made pancakes and bacon, after I
ate I got ready for school. Once I was done getting ready I walked to the bus stop the bus arrived and
I got on I sat with one of my best friends Jordan Clout and Jack Boonk. "Hey Jake isn 't it your
birthday" Jordan asked "yeah it is, but don 't anyone". I don 't like it when people sing happy
birthday to me or even telling me happy birthday. We got dropped of at our school and walked into
our class our teacher told us that we were going to have an assembly in...show more content...
He paused for a little while then asked "does anyone have a birthday today". Half the 6th graders
in the gym pointed straight at me. "Well then come right up" As I walked up I was shaking so
much I still don't know what made me so worried but there was something about going up on a
stage in front of 600 kids that intimidated me, when I got up to the table the performer he
explained to the crowd what he was going to do. The first thing he did was bring out a cup of
water then he pulled out a bottle of soap. Next thing he did was pour all of the water out in a
bucket then refilled his cup after that he pulled out something that looked like net.The net had
tiny little spaces on it for that water to flow out he put the cup and poured it out again then he
said "now how can I make this water stay in the only using the net and the soap." Nobody raised
their hands he put the soap in the cup full of water when I looked at the cup I could see the soap
sitting on top of the water I thought to myself even if he puts the net ok the cup it will either fall
off due to weight or the water will go through the holes of the net maybe both. After he put the net
on the cup he gave it to me "now I would like you to dump the cup on the ground," "Really," I said
hesitantly "yep." Slowly I tipped the cup over thinking that if I would probably have to clean it all
up when it spilled over. I closed my eyes as I fully tipped the cup over so the bottom was pointed up

Descriptive Essay About My Best Friend
There is always that one person that you have that knows all of your secrets, shares all of your
jokes, listens to all of your gossip and is simply someone you can call your best friend. I live with
that person, or at least I used to. Her name is Allison, my sister and my best friend. Looking back
at every single memory I have, she is there in some form or fashion. She is there holding my hand
my first day of preschool, wearing the same jean jacket as I because our mom loved it when we
matched. She is there on the basketball court with me during my very first game, helping calm my
nerves and stop my shaking. She is there holding me while I cry over my first heartbreak,
reassuring me that things will get better. Even after she graduated, leaving me in high school alone,
she is still there. She is at every game cheering me on from the stands and is always willing to help
me with things such as homework or listen to my constant rants about teachers.
I remember waking up every morning at 6:45 to the horrible shrill of country music blaring in the
bathroom that we shared, as Allison got ready for the day ahead. Now, the bathroom is quiet
because she is no longer there. She shares a different bathroom with a different person who now gets
the rude awakening every morning that I would die to have back. She emptied her dresser, cleaned
off her desk and took down all her pictures a few months ago, August 12th to be exact. The best day
of her life was the worst day of mine, her

to become accustomed to it. It is Five O' Clock in the afternoon. The sun is starting to drag itself
lower, dimming the landscape, leaving a majestic orange on the horizon. The towering structures
above leave enormous shadows on the people below. Car horns ring and sirens pulse, as the
people make haste towards there destinations, rushing aggressively as if though it is a race. The
end of the work day has just began. The craze is unique from anywhere else. An endless flow of
people and vehicles seem to liter the area. A man can be seen making his way towards a small

Lush, green trees are everywhere. Every house and small business seems to have one or two of
them. The car makes it's way down a small street, with old fashioned houses. The car comes to a
halt in front of a beautiful tan house. The house feels cozy. The tan painted planks of wood stack
up until they reach the charcoal shingles of the rooftop. Two enormous windows are on the front
of the house, with fine, white curtains that can be seen hanging from them on the other side. On
the left side of a house there is a large chimney, which gives the house a traditional look with it's
brown and red bricks. In the front yard of the house there is a smooth, clean concrete walkway to
the front door, surrounded by many bushes, and flowers; trimmed perfectly. This house is well
kept, and it stands out as a beauty in the neighborhood. The man walks up his paved walkway, and
into the house through a large white door, with four small windows on it, and a cross like pattern
beneath them. The doors gives of the look as if it is an entryway to heaven. The house is peaceful.
Only the birds chirping in the trees can be heard. And as the man enters his house excited children

"My favorite holiday" Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. I love seeing the shinny
Christmas lights that decorates my street and the sound of fresh fallen snow on the ground.
Christmas reminds me of family, the laughter and loved we shared, and the gifts we gave to each
other. My house on Christmas became the center of my joy. I remember waking up on Christmas
day with a huge smile on my face, heart full of joy, and my stomach barking. I can smell all the
spices cooking down stairs. As soon as I got out of bed I will rushed down the steps into the
kitchen to see what my mom had prepare for us on this special day. We had different variety of food

Me and my older cousins drag the box outside onto the front porch. As I begin to open the box my
hands started trembling. I couldn't tell if my hands were shaking from the excitement or because
it was five degrees outside. It took us two hours to put the hoop together. Our lips felt like icicles
we were numb from head to toe, but it was worth every moment. It was the most beautiful
basketball hoop I ever seen. It was candy apple red and the backboard had lights on it just in case I
wanted to play in the dark. I thought Santa Claus gave me the coolest gift in the world. Later on
in the evening I use to enjoy sitting in our cozy living room while, the fireplace was burning
sipping on hot cocca and scoff down ginger bread cookies we made the night before. My family
was always exchanging jokes. My brother Tito and my sister Titania love joking around, but my
brother was a lot funnier than my sister. He was the jokester in the family. I remember this one
particular joke my brother said about my aunt. He said she had a temptation hair style. I was
hollering it was so funny because when you looked at her hair it did remind you of the singer
group the Temptation. You would of thought she was a member of the group. I was laughing so
hard tears were running down my face and I urinated a little on myself . My brother always made

Descriptive Essay On A Trip
The art studies–at–large trip has been a once in a lifetime trip. From a twenty–four hour plane trip
with a stop in Chicago and time zone change, it has been an exhausting yet enjoyable time running
around with my classmates in the airport. Being in a different country and experiencing a new
culture first hand was astonishing and gave me a new outlook of the beauties in the world. From
Montone, Florence, Venice, andRome I had the ultimate trip in Italy. The food, language, and
culture were different from what I was used to but it was worth the experience. I was not fond of
drinking wine with every dinner though the wine was delicious. I had the best pastas, tiramisus,
and coffees while I was in Italy. The art was beautiful; it was breathtaking to see how many free
artworks was there for the public. After being in Italy for about a month I can see why people are
attracted and want to live in Italy. Montone is a beautiful, peaceful, and friendly town. I enjoyed
the walk to town, the covenant, Aries CafГ©, the tavern restaurant, and the town's people. I had
the best cappuccino and coffee at Aries and I loved every dish I ate at the tavern restaurant. The
view from the covenant was beautiful and works perfectly for a painting. Getting around town was
easy with everyone being so nice and helpful. The piazza was a great place to hang out because of
friendly the environment was and it was the main spot in town where everyone stayed. Getting a

Descriptive Essay About My Best Friend
My palms are sweating as my brain drifts off from the algebra problem. Anxiously, I begin to
scribble down a rhyme in the back of my worn–out workbook, releasing the inner anguished poet
found deep within.
Roses aren't blue. Violets aren't red.
I can't comprehend why you're always in my head?
Admittedly, I had been scanning the dense room, and this time, I notice his eyes flicker in my
direction. My best friend Dylan. What can I say about Dylan? This ode, now surrounded by pink love
hearts, is the perfect example of when my mind stops working and, for a moment, all I can do is
feel. He's my best friend in the entire world, and I'm usually so relaxed around him. Today is
different, though. To be honest, I'm in love with him. Head over heels. Naturally, I'm nervous today
since I've decided to confess my unexpected affections for him, that have appeared over the past
month.
Yes, I know what you're thinking: bad idea! It never works out! However, if you've ever been in
my shoes, you know how exactly complicated this can be. Worst of all, he comes to me for advice
about everything, and I mean everything. Inevitably, I'm obliged to listen to his exasperating
thoughts on every confounded girl he likes. Girls which, by the way, I consider as completely
wrong for him! I just can't bear it anymore. Hence, I have chosen today, for which we have a field
trip planned with our design class, where we'll get a little more privacy during lunch, as opposed to
a crowded cafeteria. In that

Descriptive Essay On My Dream House
Everyone has a "dream house", they just rely on your opinions and beliefs. You can have a
modern dream house, or maybe a vintage dream house. You can also either live in the woods, in
the city, or even right by the beach! You can be by yourself, or you can have lots and lots of
roommates. You can have lots of neighbors, or maybe even none at all! You could live off of a
mountain, or maybe on a paved street. First of all, my house would be in the woods, away from
everyone else. I would also live in a modern looking log cabin. It has always been a dream of mine
to live in a log cabin. I also want to live in a modern house, so if you mix the two together, that
would just be perfect for me. I think that if you live in the woods, which is secluded from
everyone else, with a few friends, life would be perfect. My house would be a two story, modern
looking log cabin with lights all around the outside so it would look beautiful at night. I would
also have 4 roommates. They would all be my best friends and we would have lots and lots of fun
in our house. My roommates' names are Kian, Jc, Franny, and Bobby. They are all people that I
would have the most fun living with. Kian, Jc, and Bobby are all boys while Franny and I would
be the only girls. Sometimes, two guys named Harrison and Anderson would live with us for about
a month to two months at a time. They would also be really fun to live with, and would basically be
roommates. I think these people would be the best roommates

Descriptive Writing Essay
The Class Everyone Dreads "Is EN100 a useful class to take?," this was a question I got asked by
a junior at my school. They were looking for classes to take next year; I told them that it was an
abundant amount of writing, but it was a great class to take. I went on to explain to them, that
taking it in high school would be easier and cheaper than in college. Beginning to explain to them
that it helped me grow as a writer and helped improve my English vocabulary, I realized it helped a
whole lot. Throughout the first semester of school, we had to write essays over four different topics.
These included informative, observation, reflection, and descriptive essays. I told them about my
experiences while writing with these certain types of essays. This is what I said: The first essay we
wrote was the descriptive writing style. I wrote an essay called, "Burger King's Crusty Castle". In
this essay, I wrote about the filth inside of the restaurant. Throughout this essay I got better with
describing every little detail in the story. I started off by saying, "The tea urns (used to keep all of
the freshly made tea in) smell like something had crawled in them and died" ("Burger King's
Crusty Castle"1). I eventually changed it to say, "The tea urns (used to keep all of the freshly
made tea in) smell like a skunk that has just been ran over" ("Burger King's Crusty Castle"11). I
added detail to the sentence to make it sound more fluent and to make you feel as if you could smell
it. It

Descriptive Essay About My Best Friend
My best friend, I remember it was the first days of my senior year when I met my him, we had
1st, 3rd and 7th hour together. I saw him since the first day but I didn't talk to him at all, so after a
couple days in school he sat next to me, and I was like "He seems nice, I'm going to talk to him"
so I did, I remember he had a bracelet on his hand, and say "that's a nice bracelet" he looked at me
really bad like I was bothering him and he just say "thank you" and he moved his hand away, I
was so sad because I felt like he didn't liked me, so I didn't talk to him, I was like that's what I get
for trying to be nice. After a couple weeks he kept seating next to me, one day he started talking to
me and out of nowhere we became friends, he had so many things in common, the type of music we
listen, he has a great sense of humor, I just loved his personality. But he say that's not how things
happen, at least that's how I remember them.
I truly believe it was because of proximity that we became friends, because we interact with each
other, and after the first thirty minutes of talking to him, I felt so comfortable talking with him, if
he had never sat next to me probably I wouldn't met him. Approach behaviors played a big role in our
friendship because I saw that he was interested on getting to know me and I was so interested on him
too, after spend weeks getting information about him, his background and his interest, I considered
him my truthly friend and I can be myself around him.

How to Write a Descriptive Essay
More than many other types of essays, descriptive essays strive to create a deeply involved and
vivid experience for the reader. Great descriptive essays achieve this affect not through facts and
statistics but by using detailed observations and descriptions.
What do you want to describe?
As you get started on your descriptive essay, it's important for you to identify exactly what you
want to describe. Often, a descriptive essay will focus on portraying one of the following: a person a
place a memory an experience an object
Ultimately, whatever you can perceive or experience can be the focus of your descriptive writing.
Why are you writing your descriptive essay?

Descriptive Essay About My Best Friend
My Bestfriend & I The one thing I always seem to tell myself when it comes to friendship is,
never let go of the ones that mean the most to you. My best friend's name is Gracie. I have known
her my whole life, literally. We did/do everything together and still continue to be best friends.
Friendships are crazy, but you haven't seen crazy yet. Never have I been more grateful to have a
best friend like Gracie. Before her and I were even born, our moms were friends and had also
been for a while. I am 11 days older than her, which is kinda cool how close in age we are. After
we were born, once I got to be old enough to understand, my mom used to always tell me how
Gracie and I would do everything together, from playdates, to going shopping with our moms
when we were little. Our moms are definitely the reason why Gracie and I are still friends to this
day. When Gracie and I started getting older and really got to understand who our friends were,
we weren't really that close. Elementary school started and yes, we were friends, but not best
friends. I had a friend that I did everything with and Gracie had a friend she did everything with.
When it came to like birthday parties or anything like that us four would all hang out and do stuff
together sometimes, but other than that Gracie and I were just "friends" through elementary school.
Then we were off to Junior High. When Junior High started, Gracie and I were still friends, still not
as close though. In junior

I'm going to describe a girl for you, try to keep up. Long light brown hair, vintage classy glasses,
one lonely dimple on the lower part of her mouth, soft pale skin, stone cold stare, and a dry sense
of humor. Can you picture her? Well if you can, then you've basically just met me. I usually try to
force a smile, wait no scratch that– I used to try to force a smile. Now I'm not saying this so that you
can view me as unhappy or negative, but in all fairness who has a smile as their natural way of
expression. By all means, my personality, interests, and hobbies are the fundamental building blocks
to the life I choose to live.
Is it too cliche to say that I am a teenage girl with big insecurities, an addiction with comparing
myself to others, and deepening trust issues? Well if it is, then add being cliche to the list. I guess
you can say my insecurities originate from the fact that my biggest critic is my own mother. From
the earliest years of elementary up till this present day, it was either my wardrobe, my posture, or
my way of speaking that gained the attention of my mother's judgmental eye. Eventually, the
criticism started to slip out of my own mouth, and that's when I began to compare myself to others.
I'm not oblivious to how unhealthy this makes me, but when I am told that I need to be better
(basically my entire life), it's easy to fall into unhealthy habits. Speaking of unhealthy habits, having
trust issues seems to be my main one. As I grew older and entered the

I find it extremely tough to talk about myself and my personal traits. In order for me to dIscuss
who I am in an accurate manner then I must provide some basic background information on
myself and talk about the Environment I grew up in. This way people can get a better
understanding of why I am the way I am. My Background is so essential In making me myself

Her family communicates to one another using spanish or sometimes english. I have always
grown up in a family that speaks only english so I find it interesting to go over to other people's
houses and hear them communicating in another language. On top of all of this meeting different
people has also opened my mind to new ideas. For example, in school when we work in group
projects we collaborate and communicate with people who think differently than us then work
together to figure out whose ideas will work the best and how to improve them.
Another factor that plays a part in why I am shaped how I am is my family's economic
circumstances. I have always had access to anything I needed and for that I have extreme
gratitude because I know some people have a lot of difficulty in life. Since I was born into a
family with such good economic circumstances I have been lucky to have lots of opportunities.
One Opportunity I had as a child was participating in taekwondo. I did taekwondo until I reached a

Descriptive Essay : The Best Restaurant
The best restaurant.
It was my first time ever at Ichiban, a Japanese Steakhouse restaurant. The hostess sat my family and
I down in front of a grill where someone was cooking. I ordered my food and poof, a large flame
exploded above the grill and a huge amount of heat flew by me. The loud sizzling of my food on the
grill which constructed a delicious blend of different foods for my family and I to consume. The
next second I saw the chef scoop up my food and flip it unimaginably high in the sky and
somehow catch it on his spatula and serve it up tight in front of me with unbelievable technique. I
loved this restaurant and this gave a prime example of what a good restaurant consists of. The
restaurants Weber Grill and Miller's Pub have impeccably tasting food. This is the marginalist
factor in what makes a good restaurant. The mouth watering options of each restaurant make me
feel famished every time I think about them. They have the best steak, burgers, and ribs, around
the city of Chicago by a longshot. Each meal makes another meal from any other restaurant seem
like a disgrace in comparison. Why go to a restaurant that has worse food there's no logical reason
to do so. The best restaurant of them all is clearly Buffalo Wild Wings, their Chicken wings are both
flavorful and quality. Buffalo Wild Wings, has the best bar food which includes Chicken Wings,
Burgers and Nachos. Furthermore One of the most detrimental qualities of a restaurant is, the taste

Descriptive Essay On An Island
The first thing that hit me was the sound. The sounds of birds, the sound of the sea crawling onto
the sand. I felt million grains of sand underneath my feet and the cool breeze against my face.
Moreover, the tantalizing scent of the washed–up waves, coconut, and pineapple are all mixed into
one. As I opened my eyes, I was amazed by how easily fantasy and reality intertwined at that
moment. It was like continuing a dream after waking up. So I dragged myself up and turn my
head to the east. While the sky in the opposite direction was still dark, the dawn on the east side
already broke. A mixture of yellow and orange on the horizon beneath a dark neon blue ocean of
night had begun to peek out. As the sun continuously rose, all of the purple and deep blue faded
away, and the sun took its mighty position at the top of the sky, shining so very blindingly beautiful.
After I watched the sunrise, my mood lifted. Notwithstanding, I still feel threatened for I got
trapped on an island. I stood there for a moment and tried to figure out how I got to this island. A
series of quick flashback of a shipwreck, and a big storm. Consequently, I have a severe headache, so
I decided to sit down in the sand. While sitting down, I observe the island and find that I was
surrounded by water and some other islands. The water around the island was as clear as crystal,
to the point I can see the depths of the sea. Again, I dragged myself up and turn to the back; it
seemed like a tropical paradise. There were multitudes of greenery, lush foliage that looked like they
were painted on.
I walk deeper into the island. Nowhere, the sound of the birds started to raise up. It brought
freedom and happiness to the mind. Beautiful flowers in reds, yellows, purples, and pinks lounged
happily along the banks of small streams. Following the streams, it allowed me to hear the playful
sound of the water lapping on the rocks, and the sound of leaves rustling when the wind blew
gently, bringing with it a feeling of peace and tranquility. Continuing through the trees, my stomach
started growling like a monster who is ready to eat its prey. Accordingly, the smell of fruits
suddenly arises on my left side so I made my way toward the fruity smell,

It was a seemingly beautiful day as I drove on a joy ride in my bright blue sports car, with the
wind in my hair. This is an everyday activity for me. My friends would mock me saying, "You
spend more money on gas than you make working." I laughed to myself at the thought of jokes
amongst my friends. That happiness was soon halted. As I continued driving, I saw a car coming
rapidly around the curve. The car did not show any signs of slowing down as it headed towards the
intersection. The light turned yellow and then quickly red. Another object caught my eye that made
me fear what was going to happen next. A young couple started crossing the street wearing fancy

is considered the town drunk and does not currently have a valid license due to drinking and

the whole incident I gladly accepted. The officer ended our conversation. "Thank you so much for

The only thought running through my head on my way home was how much I had not

drinking and driving and the terrible outcomes that can transpire from something that some do
not view as a "big deal". It is apparent that better ways have to be found for getting drunk drivers off
the road. I encourage anyone to be responsible for their lives and others by agreeing to never drink
and drive again, and to also aid your family and friends in doing so. Have a designated driver each
night or call a cab. Everyone is capable of saving a

Descriptive Essay About My Best Day
It was a cloudy morning, darkened gray smudges of wool surrounded the sky, the rain was
showering the school, and the air had soothing coldness of the breeze.
I had P.E. in my first hour. My classmates and I were not very thrilled to start Friday's morning this
way. We thought that the weather would ruin our weekend's plans as if it was disastrous. Apparently,
the gloom of the morning was reflected in our mood.
Our teacher walked in with a towel surrounding her neck since she got half–drowned from the rain
and said sarcastically, "Listen to me all of you, since we are having a lovely weather today, we are
not going to have any outside activities obviously. So, you can play badminton, basketball and you
are allowed to try the balance beam to whom have climbed and tried it previously. Enjoy our
blessed Friday." After that, she went back to her office to change her wet clothes. She never liked
us in the first place and neither did we.
I was extremely excited to play badminton with my friends because it had been a long time since I
had the chance to play it. When I went to ask my friends to join me, they were excited to do
something otherwise.
They wanted to climb on the balance beam which was located in the gymnastics section of the gym.
I thought it was a terrible idea and I did not want to do it; however, they kept insisting on me to
come so they grabbed my arm and went along with them.
As I entered the gymnastics section, I noticed gymnastic equipment were filling the

About Me! By: Jonna S. My Best friend My best friend is amazing! Ever since the first day of
school she's been there. Basically what happened was on the first day I was at silver hills and had
no idea who anyone was so i just sat at a table and she was like, "Hi I'm Daphnie what's your
name?," of course i said Jonna cause that's my name. Eventually we ran into each other at lunch
so we sat down and talked for awhile to each other and then we walked to my next class and I was
like wow you wanna be friends. She said of course cause i mean come on i'm amazing! Honestly
we had a lot of good memories together from the 6th grade and i'm very excited to create brand
new ones with her. She is amazing and I see perfection in her even though she disagrees i don't
care she is perfect in my eyes and i will always be there for her I don't care what happens between
us and i just wanna say thank you and i love you best friend! My Runaway! Hot air, windy breeze,
beating sun, blooming season and a nice boring day! The exotic yellow bus speeding through the
overpowering wind and it took a nice sharp stop. We got off the bus and that's when our
adventurous day started. But really, what we thought was a fun day, others thought we were crazy
and scared for us! For example, both of our entire households. This is how it all started. It was a very
casual afternoon throughout school. Nothing different from any other day, until we got on the bus.

The air was filled with salt and warm sunlight. The waves were crashing against the Hawaiian sand

Crowds of people began to funnel in to this one location on the beach. I imagined that an animal
had washed up on the shore and could not get back into the water. My curiosity grew, and I left my
chair to follow the path of everyone else down the shoreline.
Upon reaching the scene, I became aware of what happened. I stared down at a little girl who was
lying face up and was unresponsive to family members calling her name. It was evident that she
had drowned and was on the edge of death. Life guards began to pound on her chest and start chest
compulsions. She continued to stay motionless. Quickly, lifeguards began the operations of CPR.
These long and tiring procedures made the lifeguards physically tired. The rest of the family
bickered back and forth on whose fault this was. "Why couldn't you just watch her and do what you
were told?" I heard behind me. The father screamed, "It was not my responsibility to do that, it was
yours!" The clear frustration began to build and caused more confusion.
The lifeguards circling around the little girl seemed frightened. Leaning closer to hear the rumors
being spread throughout the crowd, I unintentionally noticed the disturbing sound of gargling from
the little girl. She had regained consciousness, but could not breathe due to the water trapped in her

"I can't believe you," she cries, hurls her last insult, and storms away, quickly followed by a small
group of girls. They spend the rest of the evening throwing dirty looks at the boys, none of whom
seem to care. Spinning faster and faster, the waltzer's occupants scream hysterically. "The louder
you scream, the faster we go," an impersonal voice claims on the intercom. As the ride explodes
with noise, the operator yawns and throws a lever. Outside his soundproof hut the ride
accelerates, then, climax over, it slows and stops. The controller stumbles out of the box and lets
the flushed people off of the ride. Some go straight to the back of the queue, others teeter off,
stumbling over their own feet. Gritting his teeth, a man in the car park presses the accelerator to
the floor, but to no avail. The grass is unrecognisable under all of the mud that has been churned
up by the cars that have been coming and going all day. His face reddens as the wheels spin,
spraying mud on to a shiny red Ferrari that someone was unsuspecting enough to bring. People are
pointing and laughing and the owner of the Ferrari is shouting. Finally, someone is helpful
enough to push him on his way and he leaves at top speed, without even bothering to say thank
you. On the rollercoaster, a young girl screams, while her older brother looks almost ready to fall
asleep. Her best friend in the seat behind is looking slightly green and is very much ready to go
home. The little girl whoops even louder

  • 1. Descriptive Essay About My Birthday IS IT ANYBODY 'S BIRTHDAY TODAY "GET UP" My little Brother was standing above me "GET UP IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY AREN'T YOU EXCITED?!? I got out of bed because I did not think my eardrums could take anymore. For my birthday breakfast my Mom made pancakes and bacon, after I ate I got ready for school. Once I was done getting ready I walked to the bus stop the bus arrived and I got on I sat with one of my best friends Jordan Clout and Jack Boonk. "Hey Jake isn 't it your birthday" Jordan asked "yeah it is, but don 't anyone". I don 't like it when people sing happy birthday to me or even telling me happy birthday. We got dropped of at our school and walked into our class our teacher told us that we were going to have an assembly in...show more content... He paused for a little while then asked "does anyone have a birthday today". Half the 6th graders in the gym pointed straight at me. "Well then come right up" As I walked up I was shaking so much I still don't know what made me so worried but there was something about going up on a stage in front of 600 kids that intimidated me, when I got up to the table the performer he explained to the crowd what he was going to do. The first thing he did was bring out a cup of water then he pulled out a bottle of soap. Next thing he did was pour all of the water out in a bucket then refilled his cup after that he pulled out something that looked like net.The net had tiny little spaces on it for that water to flow out he put the cup and poured it out again then he said "now how can I make this water stay in the only using the net and the soap." Nobody raised their hands he put the soap in the cup full of water when I looked at the cup I could see the soap sitting on top of the water I thought to myself even if he puts the net ok the cup it will either fall off due to weight or the water will go through the holes of the net maybe both. After he put the net on the cup he gave it to me "now I would like you to dump the cup on the ground," "Really," I said hesitantly "yep." Slowly I tipped the cup over thinking that if I would probably have to clean it all up when it spilled over. I closed my eyes as I fully tipped the cup over so the bottom was pointed up Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Descriptive Essay About My Best Friend There is always that one person that you have that knows all of your secrets, shares all of your jokes, listens to all of your gossip and is simply someone you can call your best friend. I live with that person, or at least I used to. Her name is Allison, my sister and my best friend. Looking back at every single memory I have, she is there in some form or fashion. She is there holding my hand my first day of preschool, wearing the same jean jacket as I because our mom loved it when we matched. She is there on the basketball court with me during my very first game, helping calm my nerves and stop my shaking. She is there holding me while I cry over my first heartbreak, reassuring me that things will get better. Even after she graduated, leaving me in high school alone, she is still there. She is at every game cheering me on from the stands and is always willing to help me with things such as homework or listen to my constant rants about teachers. I remember waking up every morning at 6:45 to the horrible shrill of country music blaring in the bathroom that we shared, as Allison got ready for the day ahead. Now, the bathroom is quiet because she is no longer there. She shares a different bathroom with a different person who now gets the rude awakening every morning that I would die to have back. She emptied her dresser, cleaned off her desk and took down all her pictures a few months ago, August 12th to be exact. The best day of her life was the worst day of mine, her Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Descriptive Essay Example Descriptive Essay Final The downtown metropolis can be a complex place, and some may need to become accustomed to it. It is Five O' Clock in the afternoon. The sun is starting to drag itself lower, dimming the landscape, leaving a majestic orange on the horizon. The towering structures above leave enormous shadows on the people below. Car horns ring and sirens pulse, as the people make haste towards there destinations, rushing aggressively as if though it is a race. The end of the work day has just began. The craze is unique from anywhere else. An endless flow of people and vehicles seem to liter the area. A man can be seen making his way towards a small parking lot. The parking lot has not been taken care of for some time. Potholes...show more content... Lush, green trees are everywhere. Every house and small business seems to have one or two of them. The car makes it's way down a small street, with old fashioned houses. The car comes to a halt in front of a beautiful tan house. The house feels cozy. The tan painted planks of wood stack up until they reach the charcoal shingles of the rooftop. Two enormous windows are on the front of the house, with fine, white curtains that can be seen hanging from them on the other side. On the left side of a house there is a large chimney, which gives the house a traditional look with it's brown and red bricks. In the front yard of the house there is a smooth, clean concrete walkway to the front door, surrounded by many bushes, and flowers; trimmed perfectly. This house is well kept, and it stands out as a beauty in the neighborhood. The man walks up his paved walkway, and into the house through a large white door, with four small windows on it, and a cross like pattern beneath them. The doors gives of the look as if it is an entryway to heaven. The house is peaceful. Only the birds chirping in the trees can be heard. • 4. Descriptive Essay About Christmas r 2017 "My favorite holiday" Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. I love seeing the shinny Christmas lights that decorates my street and the sound of fresh fallen snow on the ground. Christmas reminds me of family, the laughter and loved we shared, and the gifts we gave to each other. My house on Christmas became the center of my joy. I remember waking up on Christmas day with a huge smile on my face, heart full of joy, and my stomach barking. I can smell all the spices cooking down stairs. As soon as I got out of bed I will rushed down the steps into the kitchen to see what my mom had prepare for us on this special day. As I begin to open the box my hands started trembling. I couldn't tell if my hands were shaking from the excitement or because it was five degrees outside. It took us two hours to put the hoop together. Our lips felt like icicles we were numb from head to toe, but it was worth every moment. It was the most beautiful basketball hoop I ever seen. It was candy apple red and the backboard had lights on it just in case I wanted to play in the dark. I thought Santa Claus gave me the coolest gift in the world. Later on in the evening I use to enjoy sitting in our cozy living room while, the fireplace was burning sipping on hot cocca and scoff down ginger bread cookies we made the night before. My family was always exchanging jokes. My brother Tito and my sister Titania love joking around, but my brother was a lot funnier than my sister. He was the jokester in the family. I remember this one particular joke my brother said about my aunt. He said she had a temptation hair style. I was hollering it was so funny because when you looked at her hair it did remind you of the singer group the Temptation. You would of thought she was a member of the group. I was laughing so hard tears were running down my face and I urinated a little on myself . My brother always made holidays so much fun. • 5. Descriptive Essay On A Trip The art studies–at–large trip has been a once in a lifetime trip. From a twenty–four hour plane trip with a stop in Chicago and time zone change, it has been an exhausting yet enjoyable time running around with my classmates in the airport. Being in a different country and experiencing a new culture first hand was astonishing and gave me a new outlook of the beauties in the world. From Montone, Florence, Venice, andRome I had the ultimate trip in Italy. The food, language, and culture were different from what I was used to but it was worth the experience. I was not fond of drinking wine with every dinner though the wine was delicious. I had the best pastas, tiramisus, and coffees while I was in Italy. The art was beautiful; it was breathtaking to see how many free artworks was there for the public. After being in Italy for about a month I can see why people are attracted and want to live in Italy. Montone is a beautiful, peaceful, and friendly town. I enjoyed the walk to town, the covenant, Aries CafГ©, the tavern restaurant, and the town's people. I had the best cappuccino and coffee at Aries and I loved every dish I ate at the tavern restaurant. The view from the covenant was beautiful and works perfectly for a painting. Getting around town was easy with everyone being so nice and helpful. The piazza was a great place to hang out because of friendly the environment was and it was the main spot in town where everyone stayed. • 6. Descriptive Essay About My Best Friend My palms are sweating as my brain drifts off from the algebra problem. Anxiously, I begin to scribble down a rhyme in the back of my worn–out workbook, releasing the inner anguished poet found deep within. Roses aren't blue. Violets aren't red. I can't comprehend why you're always in my head? Admittedly, I had been scanning the dense room, and this time, I notice his eyes flicker in my direction. My best friend Dylan. What can I say about Dylan? This ode, now surrounded by pink love hearts, is the perfect example of when my mind stops working and, for a moment, all I can do is feel. He's my best friend in the entire world, and I'm usually so relaxed around him. Today is different, though. To be honest, I'm in love with him. Head over heels. Naturally, I'm nervous today since I've decided to confess my unexpected affections for him, that have appeared over the past month. Yes, I know what you're thinking: bad idea! It never works out! However, if you've ever been in my shoes, you know how exactly complicated this can be. Worst of all, he comes to me for advice about everything, and I mean everything. Inevitably, I'm obliged to listen to his exasperating thoughts on every confounded girl he likes. Girls which, by the way, I consider as completely wrong for him! I just can't bear it anymore. Hence, I have chosen today, for which we have a field trip planned with our design class, where we'll get a little more privacy during lunch, as opposed to a crowded cafeteria. • 7. Descriptive Essay On My Dream House Everyone has a "dream house", they just rely on your opinions and beliefs. You can have a modern dream house, or maybe a vintage dream house. You can also either live in the woods, in the city, or even right by the beach! You can be by yourself, or you can have lots and lots of roommates. You can have lots of neighbors, or maybe even none at all! You could live off of a mountain, or maybe on a paved street. First of all, my house would be in the woods, away from everyone else. I would also live in a modern looking log cabin. It has always been a dream of mine to live in a log cabin. I also want to live in a modern house, so if you mix the two together, that would just be perfect for me. I think that if you live in the woods, which is secluded from everyone else, with a few friends, life would be perfect. My house would be a two story, modern looking log cabin with lights all around the outside so it would look beautiful at night. I would also have 4 roommates. They would all be my best friends and we would have lots and lots of fun in our house. My roommates' names are Kian, Jc, Franny, and Bobby. They are all people that I would have the most fun living with. Kian, Jc, and Bobby are all boys while Franny and I would be the only girls. Sometimes, two guys named Harrison and Anderson would live with us for about a month to two months at a time. They would also be really fun to live with, and would basically be roommates. I think these people would be the best roommates Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Descriptive Writing Essay The Class Everyone Dreads "Is EN100 a useful class to take?," this was a question I got asked by a junior at my school. They were looking for classes to take next year; I told them that it was an abundant amount of writing, but it was a great class to take. I went on to explain to them, that taking it in high school would be easier and cheaper than in college. Beginning to explain to them that it helped me grow as a writer and helped improve my English vocabulary, I realized it helped a whole lot. Throughout the first semester of school, we had to write essays over four different topics. These included informative, observation, reflection, and descriptive essays. I told them about my experiences while writing with these certain types of essays. This is what I said: The first essay we wrote was the descriptive writing style. I wrote an essay called, "Burger King's Crusty Castle". In this essay, I wrote about the filth inside of the restaurant. Throughout this essay I got better with describing every little detail in the story. I started off by saying, "The tea urns (used to keep all of the freshly made tea in) smell like something had crawled in them and died" ("Burger King's Crusty Castle"1). I eventually changed it to say, "The tea urns (used to keep all of the freshly made tea in) smell like a skunk that has just been ran over" ("Burger King's Crusty Castle"11). I added detail to the sentence to make it sound more fluent and to make you feel as if you could smell it. It Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Descriptive Essay About My Best Friend My best friend, I remember it was the first days of my senior year when I met my him, we had 1st, 3rd and 7th hour together. I saw him since the first day but I didn't talk to him at all, so after a couple days in school he sat next to me, and I was like "He seems nice, I'm going to talk to him" so I did, I remember he had a bracelet on his hand, and say "that's a nice bracelet" he looked at me really bad like I was bothering him and he just say "thank you" and he moved his hand away, I was so sad because I felt like he didn't liked me, so I didn't talk to him, I was like that's what I get for trying to be nice. After a couple weeks he kept seating next to me, one day he started talking to me and out of nowhere we became friends, he had so many things in common, the type of music we listen, he has a great sense of humor, I just loved his personality. But he say that's not how things happen, at least that's how I remember them. I truly believe it was because of proximity that we became friends, because we interact with each other, and after the first thirty minutes of talking to him, I felt so comfortable talking with him, if he had never sat next to me probably I wouldn't met him. Approach behaviors played a big role in our friendship because I saw that he was interested on getting to know me and I was so interested on him too, after spend weeks getting information about him, his background and his interest, I considered him my truthly friend and I can be myself around him. • 10. Descriptive Essay How to Write a Descriptive Essay More than many other types of essays, descriptive essays strive to create a deeply involved and vivid experience for the reader. Great descriptive essays achieve this affect not through facts and statistics but by using detailed observations and descriptions. What do you want to describe? As you get started on your descriptive essay, it's important for you to identify exactly what you want to describe. Often, a descriptive essay will focus on portraying one of the following: a person a place a memory an experience an object Ultimately, whatever you can perceive or experience can be the focus of your descriptive writing. • 11. Descriptive Essay About My Best Friend My Bestfriend & I The one thing I always seem to tell myself when it comes to friendship is, never let go of the ones that mean the most to you. My best friend's name is Gracie. I have known her my whole life, literally. We did/do everything together and still continue to be best friends. Friendships are crazy, but you haven't seen crazy yet. Never have I been more grateful to have a best friend like Gracie. Before her and I were even born, our moms were friends and had also been for a while. I am 11 days older than her, which is kinda cool how close in age we are. After we were born, once I got to be old enough to understand, my mom used to always tell me how Gracie and I would do everything together, from playdates, to going shopping with our moms when we were little. Our moms are definitely the reason why Gracie and I are still friends to this day. When Gracie and I started getting older and really got to understand who our friends were, we weren't really that close. Elementary school started and yes, we were friends, but not best friends. I had a friend that I did everything with and Gracie had a friend she did everything with. When it came to like birthday parties or anything like that us four would all hang out and do stuff together sometimes, but other than that Gracie and I were just "friends" through elementary school. Then we were off to Junior High. When Junior High started, Gracie and I were still friends, still not as close though. In junior Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Long light brown hair, vintage classy glasses, one lonely dimple on the lower part of her mouth, soft pale skin, stone cold stare, and a dry sense of humor. Can you picture her? Well if you can, then you've basically just met me. I usually try to force a smile, wait no scratch that– I used to try to force a smile. Now I'm not saying this so that you can view me as unhappy or negative, but in all fairness who has a smile as their natural way of expression. By all means, my personality, interests, and hobbies are the fundamental building blocks to the life I choose to live. Is it too cliche to say that I am a teenage girl with big insecurities, an addiction with comparing myself to others, and deepening trust issues? Well if it is, then add being cliche to the list. I guess you can say my insecurities originate from the fact that my biggest critic is my own mother. From the earliest years of elementary up till this present day, it was either my wardrobe, my posture, or my way of speaking that gained the attention of my mother's judgmental eye. Eventually, the criticism started to slip out of my own mouth, and that's when I began to compare myself to others. I'm not oblivious to how unhealthy this makes me, but when I am told that I need to be better (basically my entire life), it's easy to fall into unhealthy habits. Speaking of unhealthy habits, having trust issues seems to be my main one. As I grew older and entered the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Descriptive Essay About Myself I find it extremely tough to talk about myself and my personal traits. In order for me to dIscuss who I am in an accurate manner then I must provide some basic background information on myself and talk about the Environment I grew up in. This way people can get a better understanding of why I am the way I am. My Background is so essential In making me myself because If I had been born under any different circumstances or grew up any differently I would be a different person than I am today. I was born inAberdeen Scotland but raised in Fort Bend County Texas. Aberdeen and Fort Bend both have great opportunities but differ in many ways. One way in which they differ is that Fort Bend is very culturally diverse while in Aberdeen most of...show more content... Her family communicates to one another using spanish or sometimes english. I have always grown up in a family that speaks only english so I find it interesting to go over to other people's houses and hear them communicating in another language. On top of all of this meeting different people has also opened my mind to new ideas. For example, in school when we work in group projects we collaborate and communicate with people who think differently than us then work together to figure out whose ideas will work the best and how to improve them. Another factor that plays a part in why I am shaped how I am is my family's economic circumstances. I have always had access to anything I needed and for that I have extreme gratitude because I know some people have a lot of difficulty in life. Since I was born into a family with such good economic circumstances I have been lucky to have lots of opportunities. One Opportunity I had as a child was participating in taekwondo. I did taekwondo until I reached a blackbelt which took years of hardwork and dedication. I had to memorize forms, Spar with other competitors and break boards in order to continue to move up to the next level. Taekwondo also helped keep me in good shape and fit when I was younger. Another Opportunity I am grateful for is the skill of playing the piano. At first I was not all that enthusiastic about playing it but my parents has signed me up and insisted I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Descriptive Essay : The Best Restaurant The best restaurant. It was my first time ever at Ichiban, a Japanese Steakhouse restaurant. The hostess sat my family and I down in front of a grill where someone was cooking. I ordered my food and poof, a large flame exploded above the grill and a huge amount of heat flew by me. The loud sizzling of my food on the grill which constructed a delicious blend of different foods for my family and I to consume. The next second I saw the chef scoop up my food and flip it unimaginably high in the sky and somehow catch it on his spatula and serve it up tight in front of me with unbelievable technique. I loved this restaurant and this gave a prime example of what a good restaurant consists of. The restaurants Weber Grill and Miller's Pub have impeccably tasting food. This is the marginalist factor in what makes a good restaurant. The mouth watering options of each restaurant make me feel famished every time I think about them. They have the best steak, burgers, and ribs, around the city of Chicago by a longshot. Each meal makes another meal from any other restaurant seem like a disgrace in comparison. Why go to a restaurant that has worse food there's no logical reason to do so. The best restaurant of them all is clearly Buffalo Wild Wings, their Chicken wings are both flavorful and quality. Buffalo Wild Wings, has the best bar food which includes Chicken Wings, Burgers and Nachos. Furthermore One of the most detrimental qualities of a restaurant is, the taste of it's Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Descriptive Essay On An Island The first thing that hit me was the sound. The sounds of birds, the sound of the sea crawling onto the sand. I felt million grains of sand underneath my feet and the cool breeze against my face. Moreover, the tantalizing scent of the washed–up waves, coconut, and pineapple are all mixed into one. As I opened my eyes, I was amazed by how easily fantasy and reality intertwined at that moment. It was like continuing a dream after waking up. So I dragged myself up and turn my head to the east. While the sky in the opposite direction was still dark, the dawn on the east side already broke. A mixture of yellow and orange on the horizon beneath a dark neon blue ocean of night had begun to peek out. As the sun continuously rose, all of the purple and deep blue faded away, and the sun took its mighty position at the top of the sky, shining so very blindingly beautiful. After I watched the sunrise, my mood lifted. Notwithstanding, I still feel threatened for I got trapped on an island. I stood there for a moment and tried to figure out how I got to this island. A series of quick flashback of a shipwreck, and a big storm. Consequently, I have a severe headache, so I decided to sit down in the sand. While sitting down, I observe the island and find that I was surrounded by water and some other islands. The water around the island was as clear as crystal, to the point I can see the depths of the sea. Again, I dragged myself up and turn to the back; it seemed like a tropical paradise. There were multitudes of greenery, lush foliage that looked like they were painted on. I walk deeper into the island. Nowhere, the sound of the birds started to raise up. It brought freedom and happiness to the mind. Beautiful flowers in reds, yellows, purples, and pinks lounged happily along the banks of small streams. Following the streams, it allowed me to hear the playful sound of the water lapping on the rocks, and the sound of leaves rustling when the wind blew gently, bringing with it a feeling of peace and tranquility. Continuing through the trees, my stomach started growling like a monster who is ready to eat its prey. Accordingly, the smell of fruits suddenly arises on my left side so I made my way toward the fruity smell, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Descriptive Essay Descriptive Essay It was a seemingly beautiful day as I drove on a joy ride in my bright blue sports car, with the wind in my hair. This is an everyday activity for me. My friends would mock me saying, "You spend more money on gas than you make working." I laughed to myself at the thought of jokes amongst my friends. That happiness was soon halted. As I continued driving, I saw a car coming rapidly around the curve. The car did not show any signs of slowing down as it headed towards the intersection. The light turned yellow and then quickly red. Another object caught my eye that made me fear what was going to happen next. A young couple started crossing the street wearing fancy attire. The first thought that came to mind was, 'they are...show more content... One of the police officers came up to me introduced himself, asked me my name and started, "Have you ever seen this driver before? On the road or around town?" I quickly responded, "No, I have not officer." He continued, "I learned from the call back to the station that the driver, David Chrisenger, is considered the town drunk and does not currently have a valid license due to drinking and driving". He asked me some questions and asked me to fill out an incident report. Still shaken up by the whole incident I gladly accepted. The officer ended our conversation. "Thank you so much for your time, Kevin. We really appreciate it." The only thought running through my head on my way home was how much I had not appreciated my wife and children. To witness something of that nature makes one conscientious about what you have and how quickly it could vanish. I vowed after that day to speak out against drinking and driving and the terrible outcomes that can transpire from something that some do not view as a "big deal". It is apparent that better ways have to be found for getting drunk drivers off the road. I encourage anyone to be responsible for their lives and others by agreeing to never drink and drive again, and to also aid your family and friends in doing so. Have a designated driver each night or call a cab. Everyone is capable of saving a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Descriptive Essay About My Best Day It was a cloudy morning, darkened gray smudges of wool surrounded the sky, the rain was showering the school, and the air had soothing coldness of the breeze. I had P.E. in my first hour. My classmates and I were not very thrilled to start Friday's morning this way. We thought that the weather would ruin our weekend's plans as if it was disastrous. Apparently, the gloom of the morning was reflected in our mood. Our teacher walked in with a towel surrounding her neck since she got half–drowned from the rain and said sarcastically, "Listen to me all of you, since we are having a lovely weather today, we are not going to have any outside activities obviously. So, you can play badminton, basketball and you are allowed to try the balance beam to whom have climbed and tried it previously. Enjoy our blessed Friday." After that, she went back to her office to change her wet clothes. She never liked us in the first place and neither did we. I was extremely excited to play badminton with my friends because it had been a long time since I had the chance to play it. When I went to ask my friends to join me, they were excited to do something otherwise. They wanted to climb on the balance beam which was located in the gymnastics section of the gym. I thought it was a terrible idea and I did not want to do it; however, they kept insisting on me to come so they grabbed my arm and went along with them. As I entered the gymnastics section, I noticed gymnastic equipment were filling the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 19. Descriptive Essay About Vacation Max Mudger Mrs. Oncu DE 11 30 October 2017 Narrative Essay The air was filled with salt and warm sunlight. The waves were crashing against the Hawaiian sand causing a beautiful and relaxing sound. With flapping wings and squawking noises, seagulls were stalking tourists in the search of food. The soft, hot sand was soothing to the touch. The palm trees danced in the swaying wind and the aroma of distant barbecues and sunscreen wafted in the air. As a native Floridian, the thought of a Hawaiian vacation was appealing. Hours of waiting began to accumulate when I was informed that my flight to Hawaii had been rescheduled. My frustration built as I sat and anticipated the start to my vacation. After the airplane trip to the islands, I...show more content... Crowds of people began to funnel in to this one location on the beach. I imagined that an animal had washed up on the shore and could not get back into the water. My curiosity grew, and I left my chair to follow the path of everyone else down the shoreline. Upon reaching the scene, I became aware of what happened. I stared down at a little girl who was lying face up and was unresponsive to family members calling her name. It was evident that she had drowned and was on the edge of death. Life guards began to pound on her chest and start chest compulsions. She continued to stay motionless. Quickly, lifeguards began the operations of CPR. These long and tiring procedures made the lifeguards physically tired. The rest of the family bickered back and forth on whose fault this was. "Why couldn't you just watch her and do what you were told?" I heard behind me. The father screamed, "It was not my responsibility to do that, it was yours!" The clear frustration began to build and caused more confusion. The lifeguards circling around the little girl seemed frightened. Leaning closer to hear the rumors being spread throughout the crowd, I unintentionally noticed the disturbing sound of gargling from the little girl. She had regained consciousness, but could not breathe due to the water trapped in her lungs. Policemen arrived on the beach and began to push back the imaginary boundaries surrounding the circle of lifeguards. The police advised everyone to leave the beach Get more content on HelpWriting.net
