NBC’s America’s Toughest Jobs - 2008
For three months in the summer of 2008 I traveled the country competing on NBC’s “America’s
Toughest Jobs” for the title of America’s toughest worker. I won the show and claimed the title.

Deckhand on an Alaskan crab fishing boat; Driver of a tractor trailer on Alaska’s haul road; Gold miner;
Monster truck driver; Bull fighter at the rodeo; Maintenance on the Vincent Tomas Bridge; Logging;
Laborer on an oil rig; and Mountain rescuer on Mt. Denali.
Clubs & Activities
 Engineers Without Borders – Ghana Project Manager
o Managed the opening of a new project in Ghana.
o Hosted weekly meetings and coordinated the efforts of students, professional mentors, and
members of the community to complete the application process. Raised funds and presented to
donors and at group events.
o The Ghana Project was accepted by EWB Headquarters, and shortly after my graduation the
group traveled overseas.
 Tau Bata Pi Honors Society – Vice President
o An honor society admitting the top eight percent of the university’s engineering students, across
all engineering majors.

 UMass Habitat for Humanity
o Traveled and worked with a large team on an alternative spring break trip, during which the
