How to Manage and Optimize your FME Flow InfrastructureSafe Software
Professional operation of Safe's FME Flow requires permanent monitoring and observation of the infrastructure at various levels. However, successful deployment must not only be safeguarded in purely operational terms, but also with regard to technical criteria such as the reliable execution of data transformation jobs, which often form the backbone of a geoIT solution.
con terra's service.monitor for FME successfully covers the aspects "operation", "logging" and "usage statistics" by aggregating of almost any information that FME Flow emits during operation: i.e. log data, job statistics and engine queues. Based on this information, you get even more value out of FME Flow: for successful operation and satisfied users.
The session covers not only everyday operational requirements like getting situational overview on your FME infrastructure but also issues relating to capacity planning for FME flow engines and strategies to understand mid term trends in your job execution.

Generally speaking, an employer will not have any reporting requirement if it has fewer than 50 full-time and full-time equivalent employees in its controlled group and it sponsors a fully insured medical plan. All other employers will have at least some reporting. This appears to include employers with 50 to 99 employees for 2015 – even though the employer-shared responsibility requirement has been delayed until 2016 for most employers in this group, reporting is still needed to help determine whether individual employees owe penalties or are eligible for premium subsidies.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Why Is MR So Difficult to Support?
• Still a relatively young product
• Requires different skillset and toolbox than FRx
• Security is totally different
• Environment isn’t always compatible with more stringent MR system
requirements
• Trouble finding prior service packs:
• Our account isn’t a Local Administrator on the box
• Will not see the proper settings in the Configuration Console
• Analytical Accounting totally changes the game
7
8. #GPUGsummit
Changing Our Thinking
• Importance of having identical segment names (SY00300) in GP for companies that share
a Building Block Group
8
9. #GPUGsummit
Changing Our Thinking
• What to Do after Creating New GP Company to Ensure Data Mart
Continues to Load & Company Appears in MR:
• Assign Functional Currency (MC40000)
• Import new company but skip import of existing companies
9

Changing Our Thinking
• Enable Notifications in Configuration Console
• http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dynamics_financial_reporting/archive/2013/03/14/how-to-use-
notifications-in-the-configuration-console.aspx
• .NET Framework Requirement for CU9
• Do I need to rebuild the DM after making this change in GP?
• i.e. Wrong Posting Type at YE
• Troubleshoot issue before rebuilding the DM
• No known issues with DM not loading after CU8
• Will continue to retry data load if unsuccessful
• Open case if you find something new….even if DM rebuild would fix the issue

How to Troubleshoot Common Issues
• “I Received This Random Error When Generating My Report!”
• Start >> Administrative Tools >> Event Viewer >> Windows Logs >> Application
• “MR Is Not Picking up All of My Data!”
• Data Mart Integration Logs
• Create simple report with:
• 1 Row Definition with 1 Account Hardcoded Using Lookups
• 1 Column Definition with 3 Columns
• DESC
• PERIODIC
• YTD
• No Tree
• How Do I Remove the Day of the Week (i.e. Sunday) from the Report
Header?
11
12. #GPUGsummit
How to Rebuild the Data Mart
• 1. Have all users exit Management Reporter
• 2. Disable and Remove the integration using the Configuration
Console
• 3. Stop both the Application and Process Service
• 4. Delete the ManagementReporterDM (or DDM) database
• 5. Start both services
• 6. Configure the new DataMart and Enable the integration
• The initial integration could run from 10 minutes to 4 hours
• Wait until the “Last Time Everything Was Fully Integrated” value is
populated.
12
13. Restoring GP Database with MR in the Environment
• Need to either Stop/Start the MR Services or kill the process in the Activity Monitor in SQL to
obtain exclusive access to the database
#GPUGsummit
13
14. How to Move from Legacy Provider to Data Mart
• Deploy the Data Mart
• Two companies will appear in MR for every one GP company
#GPUGsummit
• ABC-Curr (Legacy) & ABC (Data Mart)
• Remove all references to the –Curr company from all Trees and
Report Definitions
• Manually or using SQL script
• If using Multicurrency with MR, change the Currency ID (Z-US$) to
the ISO Code (USD) in the Column Layouts
• Remove the Legacy Provider
14
15. #GPUGsummit
Subtle Nuances to Report Distribution
• Be wary of Output & Distribution Path
• Report Groups greatly improve distribution & look cool!
• Fundamentally changes how organizations distribute reports…are you
ready?
• Emailing links to reports
• Pile of papers concept
15

Multicurrency Insights
• In CU8, currency translation for Data Mart integrations is now
supported with the following requirements:
• Exchange rates for currency translation are defined in the exchange
rate tables in GP
• Exchange rates on or before the current date are supported. MR does
not support previous, next, or exact exchange rates.
• Balances from the Currency Translation form in GP are not used in MR.
• The following characters are not supported in the names of currencies:
& “” /.
• Currency translation is available in Web Viewer only.
• Can still use Report Viewer but cannot switch between currencies.
