This document discusses migrating an environmental monitoring database from its current architecture, which was designed for single user access, to Microsoft SQL Server. The database contains biodiversity and environmental data collected to meet legal obligations and Rio Tinto standards. It has been tested successfully on a local SQL Server Express 2005. The objectives are to optimize environmental data management by migrating the database to a production SQL Server environment and implementing additional users and security. This will allow expanded use of the data for reports, management plans, and issues resolution while integrating Rio Tinto standards.
