SAFE = Society Advocating For Everyone
Branch County says:
WE SAY:
NO MORE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!
NO MORE SEXUAL ASSAULT!
NO MORE CHILD ABUSE!
NO MORE BULLYING!
NO MORE BYSTANDING!
NO MORE!!!!
WHAT YOU SAY?
We will call it our steps of collaboration.
Together we can accomplish so much more!
Join us in taking the next
step!!!
The Branch County Coalition Against Domestic Violence
would like you to be a partner in the
To be held
In conjunction with the
BCCADV Walk-a-Mile Event
A Marathon you say?
Don’t we already have enough runs?
I can’t run 26.2 miles!
Some people are all ready to lace up their running shoes, but wait!
A family OR individual can do this.
It is about how many $$ are pledged which becomes the key
to getting the higher dollars for your charity of choice.
In the End – EVERYONE wins!
It could be any activity, volunteering, or reading – it becomes about
Building our community – working as a team!
“We would love to help but we have
to raise enough funds of our own”
 So you might be asking - That all sounds great - but how
does this affect me and my group?
So what if we showed you how to raise funds while
working on your own mission???
You do need to raise funds right?
But…..
1. Not enough volunteers
2. We can’t take the risk of losing dollars
3. There is not enough time to do everything
4. We have already asked for too much from the community.
Think of it as 26.2 miles of collaboration!
We want something that everyone
- no matter what their activity level can participate.
Not everyone likes to run or can do a marathon all at once.
But what if:
It is available in steps?
It isn’t all about running/walking?
It gives us a way to give back?
It connects us with each other?
Our Marathon has a Mile = What?
1 mile could be = 1 book that you have
read or read to someone (remember – March
is reading month!)
The premise:
1 mile could be = 1 mile of running or
walking1 mile could be = 1 hour of
volunteering
1 mile could be = whatever your
organization
Well let us show you
how……
OK - This all sounds wonderful but
really should we be doing
something with BCCADV? I mean
really …we are against domestic
violence but how does it really
affect us????
Did you know?
Men who as children witnessed their parents’
domestic violence were twice as likely to
abuse their own wives than sons of non-violent
parents
Now do you know how it affects you???
So you want to raise boys to be good
caring men ?
 Schools - Bronson, Coldwater, Quincy, Union City
 Boy Scouts
 4-H Clubs
Did you know?

So you want to support girls in their
efforts to be strong confident women?

Cognitive and attitudinal problems. Children exposed to
domestic violence are more likely to experience difficulties in
school and score lower on assessments of verbal, motor, and
cognitive skills. Slower cognitive development, lack of conflict
resolution skills, limited problem solving skills, pro-violence
attitudes, and belief in rigid gender stereotypes and male
privilege are other issues identified in the research.
Now do you know how it affects you???

8% of women with mistimed pregnancy report physical
abuse, while only 3% of women with planned
pregnancies reported being physically hurt by their
partners.
Now do you know how it affects you???

Did you know?
That animal abuse is also an indicator that
there might be something going on in the

Now do you know how it affects you???
So you are an animal lover?

Domestic violence is an epidemic affecting
individuals in every community, regardless of
age, economic status, sexual orientation,
gender, race, religion or nationality. Intimate
partner violence is often accompanied by
emotionally abusive and controlling behavior
which is only a fraction of a systemic pattern of
dominance and control.
So now that you know how it affects you –
 Do you know what it is?
Intimate Partner Violence accounts
for 15% of all violent crime!
Domestic Violence can result in
physical injury, psychological
trauma, and in severe cases, even
death. The devastating
consequences of domestic
violence can cross generations and
last a lifetime.
This is not to be depressing – but this is
reality! We want more people to
understand the depth of this issue. Let’s
partner together and say:
The financial Plan –
The pledges….
• 50% goes to the charity/organization of choice
• 50% goes to BCCADV
WHERE DOES THE 50% GO THAT BCCADV RECEIVES?
We do not charge for any of our services that are available to the whole county.
278SAFE – services and activities
Did you know that BCCADV has taken on the resource
and referral calls for the county?
Prevention services
•Education in the schools
•Community Events
•Coaching Boys into Men
Operational Dollars:
• Emergency Shelter
• Transitional Housing
• Altrusa Teenshare
Additional programs under our umbrella:
•Bridges out of Poverty Classes
•Backpack Buddies
•GIRLZ CLUB
Plus a plethora of additional services!!!
The financial Plan –
The Sponsors….
*100% goes to BCCADV which will pay
overhead costs on the event
*So what if we don’t get enough
sponsors to pay overhead? That is the
risk that BCCADV is taking!
*What if there are more dollars than
overhead? These are the dollars we
would have gotten through Walk A Mile
Sponsors.
