2. ā¢ Interpreting the Brief
ā¢ I am working for the BBC Three in association with Northern Voices
and have been asked to create a short documentary film. The theme is
āCulture In The Digital Ageā capturing young peopleās culture and how
digital technology has had an impact on young adults and children. The
target audience for the documentary will be young people aged 16-24
with the aim to engage and encourage them to think about the digital
age impact on modern society.
6. Audience Profile
My audience will need to be engaged into the documentary and there also has to be a meaning
behind it. My documentary will target a specific audience that will share the same interest as me.
Of course, my documentary will be based on football and the impact it has on social media so I
will need to grab the attention as soon as possible. My audience will hopefully feel comfortable
to discuss the topics with anyone and be able to create their own opinions of them. For example,
football pundits or fans.
7. My idea for this project is to create a documentary about the impact that football
has on social media, displaying the negative side. I have decided to base my
documentary on this because it is a something Iām passionate about and the
specific topic gave me an interest when searching for ideas. I will hope to analyse
THREE negative responses to worldwide topics in the football world, adding
context and my opinion on the social media responses. The three topics I am
expecting to include are:
Racial Abuse sent towards England players after Euro 2020 Final
Gary Lineker Twitter scandal
Impact on players livelihoods ā Jack Grealish and Harry Maguire incidents
I have chosen these because these were very strong topics at the time, and I
expect there to be lots of conversation and different opinions that will engage my
audience.
