Intellitec has been developing Battery Guard systems for over 30 years to prevent dead or flat batteries in vehicles like motor homes, RVs, commercial trucks, and more. Their Battery Guard 2000 was widely adopted in these industries in the late 90s. Their newer Battery Guard 3000+, launched in 2009, adds programmable warnings and voltage/time thresholds and is used in 100% of UK fire vehicles. Their Tail Lift Battery Guard, designed in 1997, protects tail lift batteries from drain and extends their life, while their PSV Battery Guard, from 1996, works similarly on bus batteries and is used by many large bus operators worldwide.

2. Battery Guard TM Intellitec have been in the DC power management business For over 30 years, with well over 1 million Battery Guard Systems sold world wide. Launched back in 1991 the Battery Guard was originally designed to prevent dead or flat batteries within the motor home / RV application. Within a very short time frame all RV / van converters were using the product and Intellitec began the process of looking at other markets. This market research lead to the development of the Battery Guard 2000 and saw us breaking into the commercial truck and special vehicle sector worldwide. By 1998 we were being specified by the likes of Ryder, Coca Cola, Mcdonalds, Marks & Spencer, Curry's, Comet, Wincanton, Utility groups and emergency service vehicles.

Battery Guard 3000 + Most European vehicle builders now use CANBUS technology in the Construction of there vehicles, whilst CANBUS is an excellent multiplex system, the CAN nodes do not like a sudden loss of power IE when battery guard isolates at low voltage. For this reason Intellitec began working on the concept of Battery Guard 3000+ during 2008. We wanted to design in some features that existing customers had been requesting, most notably the ability to program warnings and the voltage and time thresh holds. Battery Guard 3000+ was launched in January 2009 and is now being installed to 100% of the UK Fire & Rescue vehicles, among many other contracts besides.

6. Tail Lift Battery Guard In 1997 Intellitec developed the Tail Lift Battery Guard as a direct request from a number of OE tail lift manufacturers and commercial fleet operators. The operators and tail lift manufacturers wanted a system that could be installed to any tail lift either as an OE part or indeed a retrofit. Anything that gets installed to a tail lift has to be extremely rugged due to being exposed to the elements. Intellitec designed the tail lift Battery Guard so it can be installed inside 40 minutes. Tail Lift Battery Guard is used by Ratcliff, Ross & Bonnyman, Anteo amongst others.

8. PSV Battery Guard PSV Battery Guard was designed and launched in 1996 after Discussions with many of the UK`s largest and most well known Bus or Public service operators ( PSV ) All European bus chassis are fitted with an electrically operated battery isolator as standard. We designed a dedicated ECU that would fit in series with the OE isolator on any PSV chassis and use this to effect the low voltage isolation. Since its launch, many of the worlds Largest PSV/ Bus operators have specified the system on new vehicles and indeed retro fitted there existing fleets. Companies Such as First Bus, Go Ahead, Kowloon Motor Bus, Lothian Transport, Metroline amongst many others use the PSV Battery Guard as part of there specification.
