• Histidine attributes to maximum buffering
action of albumin and hemoglobin as buffers
because of the extra charged groups 
Increases polarity of the molecule
• Fe2+ of heme moiety of hemoglobin is
attached with globulin at 2 histidine
molecules designated as; the proximal and
the distal Histidine residues

carbon of lysine.
The ε (epsilon) amino group of Lys form sciff’s base
linkage with the prosthetic group of proteins. Eg., PLP
with transaminases.

configuration of proteins. Eg., Quaternary structure of
Hb.
Lys is found in histone proteins of the DNA.

intestine forms cadaverine
