The Valea Doftanei-Paltinu dam is a 108m high concrete dam that was built due to difficult geomorphological conditions at the site. It provides drinking, industrial, and irrigation water for over 9,000 hectares of land along the Prahova River between Ploiesti and Baicoi. The dam supplies water to the municipalities of Campina and Ploiesti.
